1. Introduction
This is a report on my internship at .....(name of company), from......(dates) to....., as
part of my graduation requirements for the English Business Communication major at
Sripatum University.
The report is organized into three parts. Firstly, it explains the objectives of the
University and my own. Secondly, it details my experiences as an intern. Finally, it
concludes with recommendations for improvement in the program and advice to
future students.
1.1 Background
a) Company profile:
name
b) Why did you choose this company? (e.g. gain practical experience,
improve/acquire ....skills)
c) Is this the kind of company you plan to work at in the future? Why or why not?
I located this internship by ....-ing..... Next .... informed.... that (company) was
willing to train me. Next SPUC sent a request letter to (company). Finally, after
SPUC received a confirmation letter from (company), I began my training on ...(date).
2.2 Self-Analysis
What are your sources of "job satisfaction" (i.e. not including salary)?
What are your skills (i.e. social, academic, cognitive)? During your internship,
which skills did you use the most? the least? Which skills need improving?
What are your knowledge areas? e.g. computers, English, Microsoft Word or
Excel, music, office equipment, data, graphics, Japanese, muay thai, iado, budo.
What are your positive personal traits? How do you describe yourself as a
worker?
e.g. accurate, adaptable, creative, dependable, flexible, methodical, persistent,
punctual, responsible, self-reliant, tactful, courteous, kind
What are your negative personal traits (i.e. weaknesses, shortcomings)? What
needs improving?
3. Duties and Responsibilities
My duties included:... -ing
I was responsible for ...-ing
I was assigned (by my supervisor) to....
Describe the greatest challenge you encountered and how you overcame it
Describe mistakes that you made and what you learned from them
Describe a problem that you encountered, but which you could not solve. What
happened? (N.B. Do not say "did not know how to use the photocopier", "fix
a paper jam". If you couldn't find terminology in the dictionary, don't say that
"you asked your supervisor or colleague". Say what you did.)
5 Recommendations
5.1 Overall Evaluation
What did you get from your SPUC coursework that helped you in the internship?
Why? For example, if you only did translation, conversation courses ENG 201
and 413 would not be useful.
What did you get from the internship that you did not learn at SPUC? (e.g. social
skills, office skills, cognitive skills)
5.2 Advice for Next Year's Internships Students
Name at least two ways that SPUC students should prepare for their internship
(N.B. Do not include "proper uniform", "tardiness", "absenteeism")
5.3 Recommendation for the English Business Communication
Program and Its Planners
* internship
