Undergraduate Courses

There shall be a Combined Admission Test for B. Tech. and B. Arch. Courses. Candidates appearing for B. Tech.
shall be required to appear in Paper I only, candidates appearing for B. Arch. shall be required to appear in Paper I
and II having equal weightage.
The Combined Admission T est for B. T ech. and B. Arch. Courses will be conducted as under :
Paper I shall be of objective type. The medium of test shall be English and the general standard will be that of the
qualifying examination.
Paper II (Architecture Aptitude) shall contain some descriptive questions and T est of Drawing. Candidates are advised
to bring their own drawing and sketching material like pencils, eraser, sharpner, pen, ink, etc. Drawing Sheets and/or
Answer Booklet shall be provided to the candidates.
Selection for admission to B. T ech. and B. Arch. Courses shall be made according to the preference indicated by a
candidate in his/her application form. For B. T ech., selection shall be based on the performance in paper I, while for B.
Arch., selection shall be based on the performance in Paper I and Paper II.
Preference shall be given to candidates who have professional experience of Government or Semi Government or
Registered Organisations after passing the Final year Diploma in Engg. Examination.
Selection Procedure :
There shall be an Admission T est. The candidates will be selected on the basis of merit determined by the
performance at the Admission T est, marks obtained at the qualifying examination and professional experience.

Only professional experience of Govt. /Semi-Govt. / Registered Organisations after passing the Final Year Diploma in
Engineering Examination shall be taken into account.
The admission test shall contain 25% of the topics of the Physical Sciences and 75% of the relevant Engg. Sciences.
The test will be of objective type and shall also be practical application oriented.
Candidates are required to submit the following documents with the Application Form :
1. Self attested photocopies of marksheets / grade sheets of Diploma in Engg. I Year, II Year and Final Y ear
examinations.
2. Certified copy of Professional Experience Certificate mentioning therein the total period of service rendered.
3. No Objection Certificate from the employer.
Note : Candidates appearing at Final Y ear Diploma in Engineering examination may also apply. They shall submit self
attested photocopy of Diploma in Engineering Final Year marksheet on or before19.06.2010 in the Admission
Section, AMU, Aligarh failing which their Application Forms shall be
rejected.
Students admitted to B.E. (Evening) Course shall not be provided hostel accommodation.
Postgraduate Courses
Selection Procedure : Admission to the M. Tech. Courses are based on merit determined through Departmental T est to
be conducted by the Chairman of the Department of Studies concerned. Candidate should satisfy himself that he/she fulfills
the eligibility requirements in terms of educational qualifications, age, etc. Only those candidates who fulfill the eligibility
requirement are advised to reach Department of Studies concerned to appear in the T est on the given date and time. No
separate intimation letter will be sent to the candidates concerned for appearing in the T est. For further details the
candidates may contact the Chairman of the Department of Studies concerned.
The final list of selected candidates including waiting list (Chance Memo List) shall be determined on the basis of
overall merit based on the following two components :
1. Performance in GATE : 100 marks
2. Performance in Admission T est : 100 marks

Candidates belonging to Mechanical, Chemical, Petrochemical, Metallurgy, Mining and Agricultural Engineering branches
are also eligible for admission to M. T ech. (Environmental Engg.) Civil in which 50% of the seats are reserved for B. T ech.
(Civil) graduates and the remaining 50% seats are open to candidates from other branches of Engineering mentioned
above. If seats remain vacant these may be offered to the candidates from Civil Engineering.

19 Course of Study : M. Tech. (Nanotechnology)
Duration : 4 Semester
Minimum Qualification : B. T ech. or its equivalent examination in any branch of Engineering with not less than 65% marks
in aggregate or its equivalent CPI/CGPA/NAG (CPI of 6.5 on 10 point scale)
OR
M. Sc. (Physics / Chemistry) with not less than 60% marks.
Note :
(a) Candidates applying for admission to M. T ech. Courses shall submit self attested photo copies of
marksheets/grade sheets of B.T ech./B.Sc. Engg. I - IV year /M. Sc. (Physics / Chemistry) Examinations alongwith
copy of their relevant GATE Score Card.
(b) Candidates appearing at final year B. T ech. or equivalent examination / M. Sc. (Physics / Chemistry) Examination
may also apply. They shall submit self attested photo copies of marksheet/grade sheet of Final Year Examination /
GATE Score Card at the time of reporting for admission.
(c) Candidates applying for M. T ech. (Nanotechnology) are required to send separate Application Form to the Chairman,
Department of Applied Physics of this University.
Selection Procedure : Admission to the Advanced PG Diploma in Nanotechnology Course is based on merit
determined through Departmental T est to be conducted by theChairman, Department of Applied Physics. Candidate
should satisfy himself that he/she fulfills the eligibility requirements in terms of educational qualifications, age, etc. Only
those candidates who fulfill the eligibility requirement are advised to reach Department of Studies concerned to appear in
the T est on the given date and time. No separate intimation letter will be sent to the candidates concerned for appearing in
the T est. For further details the candidates may contact the Chairman of the Department of Studies concerned.
The final list of selected candidates including Waiting List (Chance Memo List) shall be determined on the basis of
overall merit based on the following two components

* A special fee of Rs. 10,000/- as “Development Charges” per student for the full course shall be charged at the time of
admission. (Included in Table - I)
Minimum Qualification : Secondary School Certificate of this University or an equivalent examination with not less than
45% marks in aggregate of English, Mathematics and Science as three subjects of equal weightage.
OR
A higher examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects, with not less than 45% marks in
aggregate of English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of equal weightage.
Note : Girl candidates may also apply for admission to Diploma in Architectural Assistantship / Diploma in Interior Design
Age Limit : The age of the candidate must not exceed 21 years as on31st December, 2010.
Selection Procedure : There shall be a Combined Admission T est for admission to Diploma in Engineering and
Class XI (Science Stream). Selection for admission to Diploma in Engineering shall be on the basis of performance in
Paper I while the Diploma in Architectural Assistantship/Interior Design candidates will be selected on the basis of
performance of Papers I and Paper-II(a). Similarly Diploma in Leather & Footwear T echnology candidates will be selected
on the basis of performance of Paper I and II(b).

Note : The allocation / reallocation shall be done (as in other test courses) in accordance with the merit in the
admission test, the preference mentioned by the candidate in the Application Form and the availability of the seat.
The University reserves the right to offer admission over and above the preferences as indicated in the Application
Form on merit determined as per University rules.

Selection Procedure : Admission to the Advance Diploma in Food TechnologyCourse is based on merit determined
through Departmental T est to be conducted by thePrincipal, University Polytechnic. Candidate should satisfy himself
that he/she fulfills the eligibility requirements in terms of educational qualifications, age, etc. Only those candidates who fulfill
the eligibility requirement are advised to reach Polytechnic concerned to appear in the T est on the given date and time.
No separate intimation letter will be sent to the candidates concerned for appearing in the T est. For further details the
