God got me!

I’m pretty sure that you’ve either heard or even used the next phrase during your life:
“God does not sleep; He is going to get you” or maybe that “The wheel will turn”?
I’ve have heard these sentences directed at me quite a couple of times during my lifetime,
sometimes deservingly so!

Today I can say that the people saying this have been right all along! God got me!
Probably not in the way the words directed at me was intended, but He really got me!
He did not come to me with wrath, punishment or condemnation; He came to me with
love, grace and mercy!
(Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Joh 3:17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn to world, but that the
world through Him might be saved. (KJV))
(Joh 3:16 For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that
everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life.
Joh 3:17 God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world
through Him. (NLT))

I repented, my heart, spirit, soul and way of thinking was changed forever. I became a
new creation.
(2Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things passed
away; behold, all things are become new. (KJV))
(2Cor 5:17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The
old life is gone; a new life has begun. (NLT))

I became part of God’s Kingdom. I had to realize that the Kingdom of God was not
anything like what I’ve been taught. I do not have to deserve God’s love, mercy or grace.
The price for my sin was paid in full and there is nothing I can do that can add to what
Jesus has already done. All I had to do was to accept the grace I’ve been offered. Jesus is
my Saviour!
(Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ
Jesus:
Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to
declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the
forbearance of God;
Rom 3:26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the
justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Rom 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by
the law of faith. (KJV))
(Rom 3:23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.
Rom 3:24 Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did
this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins.
Rom 3:25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with
God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood. This sacrifice
shows that God was being fair when He held back and did not punish those who sinned
in times past,
Rom 3:26 for He was looking ahead and including them in what He would do in this
present time. God did this to demonstrate His righteousness, for He Himself is fair and
just, and He declares sinners to be right in His sight when they believe in Jesus.
Rom 3:27 Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No,
because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. (NLT))

I was given the assurance that absolutely nothing will ever separate me from God. I was
given eternal life and I became part of the Kingdom of light. Nothing can ever steal what
I was given, nothing can cause me to lose what I was given, and nothing can ever take me
away from the Kingdom of light. Absolutely nothing!
(Joh 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall
any man pluck them out of my hand.
Joh 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to
pluck them out of my Father's hand. (KJV)).
(Joh 10:28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them
away from Me.
Joh 10:29 for My Father has given them to Me, and He is more powerful than anyone
else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand. (NLT))

This was the most comforting realization to me. I can stop worrying about my salvation, I
don’t have to lie awake at night wondering whether I’ll be going to hell for the things
I’ve done. I am a child of God and I was bought by the blood of Jesus. I have eternal life
and it will never be taken away from me.
