The New Jerusalem

...The City of God, the City of Righteousness,
the City of Peace.
...

11
The New Jerusalem

“.....1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were
passed away; and there was no more sea.

2
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven,
prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men,
and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with
them, and be their God.

4
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are
passed away.

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me,
5

Write: for these words are true and faithful.

6
And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will
give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

7
He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers,
and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with
fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

9
And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven
last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's
wife.

And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that
10

great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

11
Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a
jasper stone, clear as crystal;

And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and
12

names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the
13

west three gates.

And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve
14

apostles of the Lamb.

2
And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof,
15

and the wall thereof.

16
And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured
the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height
of it are equal.

And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the
17

measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

18
And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear
glass.

19
And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious
stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the
fourth, an emerald;

20
The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a
topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

21
And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the
street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
22

23
And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God
did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the
24

earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
25

And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
26

27
And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh
abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life......”.
( Revelation Chapter 21 ).

Jerusalem the City of Peace.

There is so much violence on earth. So much wars and rumours of war. There will be no
peace until Jesus returns.

The first Church started in Jerusalem. Jerusalem is the City of the Great King. ( Matthew 5
verse 35 ).

Jerusalem is the City of the Great King, the City of God, the City of Peace.

3
Babel, was a city founded by Nimrod.

Nimrod “...was a mighty hunter before the LORD : wherefore it is said, Even as nimrod the
mighty hunter before the LORD.

10. And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and calneh, in the
land of Shinar....”.( Genesis 9 verse 9 and 10 ).

Nimrod was the son of Cush, who was a son of ham , who was a son of Noah. ( Genesis 9
verse 6 to 10 ).

People die but demon spirits that possessed wicked people get transferred from one
person to the next by a process called “...the transfer of spirits...”.

Remember , in the Book of Numbers, the ten spies had a negative report and transferred
their fear to the children of Israel.

They saw themselves as grasshoppers.

Joshua and Caleb didnot look at the size of the giants in Canaan land. They looked at God’s
promised word, and believed that God had gave them the land and that they should possess
it at once.

God had gave the promised land to Abraham and to his seed.

They believed the Word of God and had no regard for the giants in the land of promise.

Joshua and Caleb were of another spirit., and believed that they were more than able to
possess the land. ( See Numbers Chapter 13 ).

Israel as a Nation, built it’s First Temple in the time of King Solomon . ( 1 Kings Chapter 8; 2
Chronicles Chapter 6 ).

The temple that King Solomon built was destroyed by King Nebuchadnezzar. ( 2 Kings
Chapter 25 verses 1 to 9 ).

The Second Temple was built following the decree by King Cyrus. (See the Book of Ezra; the
Book of Nehemiah ; Isaiah 44 verse 28; Isaiah 45 ; Haggai Chapter 2; etc ).

In Haggai Chapter 2 we read :

“..... 1In the seventh month, in the one and twentieth day of the month, came the word of the
LORD by the prophet Haggai, saying,
2
Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of
Josedech, the high priest, and to the residue of the people, saying,

4
3
Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do ye see it now? is it
not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing?
4
Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech,
the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I am
with you, saith the LORD of hosts:
5
According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit
remaineth among you: fear ye not.
6
For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens,
and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;
7
And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house
with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.
8
The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.
9
The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts:
and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.
10
In the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, came the
word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,
11
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying,
12
If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or
pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No.
13
Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be
unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean.
14
Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith
the LORD; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean.
15
And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from before a stone was laid
upon a stone in the temple of the LORD:
16
Since those days were, when one came to an heap of twenty measures, there were but
ten: when one came to the pressfat for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were
but twenty.
17
I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the labours of your hands;
yet ye turned not to me, saith the LORD.
18
Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth
month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD's temple was laid, consider it.

5
19
Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate,
and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.
20
And again the word of the LORD came unto Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the
month, saying,
21
Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth;
22
And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the
kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and
the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.
23
In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of
Shealtiel, saith the LORD, and will make thee as a signet: for I have chosen thee, saith the
LORD of hosts......”.

This temple was destroyed in A.D 70 by the Romans led by General Titus. ( see Josephus ,
Jewish Historian ), in fulfilment of Matthew 24 and other scriptures.

The Jews as a nation were scattered until God gathered them from around the world and
placed them back in the homeland. In 1948, Israel once again, had it’s own flag flying in it’s
homeland. Israel in 1948 also had it’s own currency and it’s own national language, Hebrew.

In 1967, Israel took possession of Jerusalem but Moshe Dayan handed over the Temple
Mount to the Muslims in Jerusalem. ( Matthew 24 verse 15; etc ).

The Third Temple will one day soon be built in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount. ( see
Haggai Chapter 2 ; etc ).

In Genesis Chapter 9 we read about Nimrod.

Nimrod lived after Noah’s flood.

Nimrod is a type of the Antichrist.

The Tower of Babel was built after Noah’s flood.

We read about Mystery Babylon in Revelation Chapter 17 .

Revelation Chapter 17 says ;

“.....1And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me,
saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that
sitteth upon many waters:
2
With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the
earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

6
3
So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a
scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4
And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and
precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and
filthiness of her fornication:
5
And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER
OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6
And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the
martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
7
And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the
woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
8
The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and
go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not
written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that
was, and is not, and yet is.
9
And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which
the woman sitteth.
10
And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and
when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
11
And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth
into perdition.
12
And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as
yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
13
These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
14
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of
lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
15
And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are
peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
16
And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall
make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
17
For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto
the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

7
18
And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the
earth.....”.

In Matthew Chapter 5 verses 33 and 37 we read :

“.....33Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not
forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
34
But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
35
Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great
King.
36
Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or
black.
37
But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these
cometh of evil....”. ( Matthew 5 verse 33 to 34 ).

In John Chapter 8 verse 56 to 59 we read ;

“.....56Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57
Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen
Abraham?
58
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
59
Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple,
going through the midst of them, and so passed by.....”.

The Lord Jesus said that Jerusalem is a city of a Great King. ( Matthew 5 verse 35 ).

He also said that “...Abraham rejoiced to see My day....” ( John 8 verse 56 ).

In Hebrews Chapter 7 verses 1 to 3 we read ;

“.... 1For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham
returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
2
To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of
righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;
3
Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor
end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.....”.

Abraham met the King of Salem, Melchizedek , the King of Peace and the King of
Righteousness. ( Genesis Chapter 14 verse 18 to 20 ; Hebrews 7 verse 1 to 3 ).

8
In Genesis 14 we read :

“....1And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar,
Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations;
2
That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab
king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar.
3
All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea.
4
Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.
5
And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and
smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emins in Shaveh
Kiriathaim,
6
And the Horites in their mount Seir, unto Elparan, which is by the wilderness.
7
And they returned, and came to Enmishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of
the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazezontamar.
8
And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah,
and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar;) and they joined battle with
them in the vale of Siddim;
9
With Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel king of
Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five.
10
And the vale of Siddim was full of slimepits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled,
and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain.
11
And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their
way.
12
And they took Lot, Abram's brother's son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and
departed.
13
And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the
plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were
confederate with Abram.
14
And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants,
born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.
15
And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and
pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.

9
16
And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods,
and the women also, and the people.
17
And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of
Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the
king's dale.
18
And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the
most high God.
19
And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of
heaven and earth:
20
And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And
he gave him tithes of all.
21
And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to
thyself.
22
And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most
high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,
23
That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing
that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:
24
Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went
with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion......”.

The Lord Jesus Christ is “.....The Lamb slain before the foundation of the world...”
( Revelation 13 verse 8 ); He is “...Melchisidec , King of Righteouness , King of Peace ...”
( Hebrews 7 verse 1 to 3 ) ; “...The Alpha and the Omega , the beginning and the End, the
First and the Last...”,( Revelation 22 verse 13 ); He is the Kinsmen Redeemer; He is
Wonderful, Counseller, the Mighty God , the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace ( Isaiah 9
verse 6 ); etc etc.

Jersusalem is a City of the Great King. ( Matthew 5 verse 35 ) .

Abraham met Melchisidec , the King of Righteousness , the King of Peace. ( Hebrews 7
verses 1 to 3 ).

Abraham met the King of the City of Jerusalem. He met the king of the City which “..... hath
foundations , whose builder and maker is God.....”. ( Hebrews 11 verse 10 ).

Abraham paid tithes to Melchisedec and knew that one day , the new Jerusalem would set
up permanently on earth.

Abraham rejoiced to see the day of the Lord Jesus Christ. ( John 8 verse 56 ).

10
By Revelation , on Mount Moriah , Abraham knew that God would Provide Himself as the
Lamb. ( Genesis 22 verse 8 ).

Abraham, knew that God would prepare Himself a Body. ( Hebrews 10 verse 5 ).

By faith Abraham knew that the messiah would be born of a virgin . ( Isaiah 9 verse 6 ) and
that the Old saints that had passed on would rise again. That there would be a resurrection
of the saints in Jerusalem when the lord Jesus Christ arose from the dead within three days
after being laid in the tomb . ( Isaiah 26 verse 19 ; Matthew 27 verses 51 to 53 ).

Abraham and Sarah were amongst those saints that arose from the dead and made a
whistle stop to Jerusalem , “... the Holy City ,and appeared unto many ...”( Matthew 27
verse 53 ), entered Paradise.

Abraham believed in the Messiah, in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Abraham , rejoiced to see the day of the Lord Jesus Christ. ( John 8 verse 56 ).

That is why before he died Abraham was “....seeking that city, which hath foundations,
whose builder and maker is God....”.

Mankind has no choice on two days in his life. These are the day a person is born and the
day a person dies.

Mankind walks on this earth for but a brief moment in time. When a person dies they step
out of their body of time into eternity.

“..And It is appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judgement...”. ( Hebrews 9
verse 27 ).

The life we live on this earth determines our destiny.

To enter heaven, we must be born again .

In John Chapter 3 we read about Nicodemus a ruler of the Jews, a Master of all Israel, a
good man, a man of good standing, a leader of the Jews, meeting the Lord Jesus.

The Lord Jesus told him : “... Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he
cannot see the kingdom of God......”.( John 3 verse 3 ).

In John Chapter 3 verses 1 to 21 , we read :

“...... 1There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2
The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a
teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be
with him.

11
3
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born
again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second
time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the
Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell
whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
9
Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
10
Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these
things?
11
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen;
and ye receive not our witness.
12
If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of
heavenly things?
13
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the
Son of man which is in heaven.
14
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted
up:
15
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth
in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through
him might be saved.
18
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned
already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness
rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

12
20
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds
should be reproved.
21
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that
they are wrought in God......”.

Some people think that they can get to heaven by good works.

Good works cannot save anybody. A person is saved by “.... the Grace of God, through faith
...” ( Ephesians 2 verse 8 ). A person must be born again to enter the Kingdom of God. ( John
3 verse 5 ).

The Apostle Peter said in 1 Peter 1 verse 23 :

“....being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of god, which
liveth and abideth forever....”.

Wnen an individual hears the Word of God being preached, and they receive the Word of
God in their heart, and let the Word of God have free course in their lives and have the pre-
eminence, then they pass “...from death unto life...” ( John 5 verse 24 ).

There is an Exodus in their individual life. From death to life, from sickness to good health,
from poverty to prosperity, from the Kingdom of Darkness to the Kingdom of Light.

There is an Exodus, there is a transformation. There is an Exodus from a life of deformation

to a life of transformation “...to be conformed into the image of His Son....” ( Romans 8
verse 29 ).

Every Believer in the Word of God knows that “....In the beginning, God created the
heaven and the earth....”. ( Genesis 1 verse 1 ).

The Believer in the Word of God believes that in Genesis 1 verse 26 to 28, “....man was
created in the image of God....”.

Sin in the Garden of Eden , deformed mankind. Mankind died a spiritual death that
destroyed his fellowship with God.

Figleaf religion couldnot work.

An innocent lamb had to die for the guilty Adam and Eve. God had to clothe the physical and
spiritual nakedness of Adam and Eve . God clothed Adam and Eve with animal skins
dripping with blood.

Ever since mankind’s expulsion from the garden of Eden , mankind has been a pilgrim on
this earth “.....seeking a city which hath foundations , whose builder and maker is God.....”.
( Hebrews 11 verse 10 ).

13
When Cain killed Abel, Cain became “.....a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth .. ....”.
( Genesis 4 verse 14 ).

After Noah’s flood, Nimrod built his own city, Babel. ( Genesis 9 and 10 ).

In Genesis 13 we see lot walking by sight, being carnal and being sense ruled , choosing the
well watered plains of Jordan and pitching his tent towards Sodom. ( Genesis 13 verses 10
to 13 ).

It has been said that Abram ( Name later changed to Abraham ), “.... separated himself from
all unbelief and looked to the promises of God....”.

Abraham had a higher calling on his life.

Abraham was seeking a better place than the well watered plains of Jordan.

Abraham was seeking a better city than the city of Sodom built by man and destroyed by
God in Genesis 19.

Abraham was “.....seeking a city which hath foundations , whose builder and maker is
God.....”. ( Hebrews 11 verse 10 ).

A person cannot get to heaven by good works.

A person cannot get into heaven by killing anyone .

A person cannot get into heaven by committing suicide.

IN THE BOOK OF EXODUS , CHAPTER 20 WE READ ABOUT THE TEN COMMANDMENTS , and
we read :

“....Thou shalt not kill...”. ( Exodus 20 verse 13 ).

“...For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the
scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom....”. ( Matthew 5 verse 22 ).

Good works cannot save you. Isaiah the Prophet said : “.....6But we are all as an unclean
thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our
iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away....”. ( Isaiah 64 verse 6 ).

The Lord Jesus said : “............For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed
[the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of
heaven.....”. ( Matthew 5 verse 20 ).

We are pilgrims on this earth . It has been said “...tomorrow is not promised unto man...”.

14
“...... For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I
succoured thee: behold, now [is] the accepted time; behold, now [is] the day of
salvation.).........”. ( 2 Corinthians 6 verse 2 ).

“..... 8By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after
receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
