Late last month the Conservative Party was over-

non-confidence was issued.
Michael Ignatieff and the Liberals brought the
vote forth in the House of Commons.
Crowfoot incumbent MP Kevin Sorenson has
been campaigning since parliament dissolved.
“I feel strongly that the vote was not justified,”
said Sorenson.
“The vast majority of Canadians, and our Con-
servative government, strongly urged them to sup-
port Budget 2011, the Next Phase of Canada’s Eco-
Students nomic Action Plan, so that we could continue to
speak out! nurture the fragile economic recovery in Canada,
protect jobs, and continue creating jobs and eco-
nomic growth.”
He said the current election has caused both
Page 17 domestic and foreign investors in our country to
pause. Sorenson said Canada is seen as a beacon
of economic prosperity and social stability in to-
day’s world.
“The Opposition Coalition has risked this se-
cure position by causing an election that, unless
the Conservative Party wins a majority of seats,
could lead to Canada being governed by a weak
and tenuous coalition, reliant on the support of
the Bloc Quebecois, a party dedicated to breaking
up Canada,” said Sorenson.
Wheatland Chiefs He said there are numerous policies and pro-

Championship that are now in jeopardy because the coalition
brought down the government. Sorenson said
many Canadians were looking forward to the im-
plementation of measures in the budget.
“For example, we intend to provide an enhanced
Guaranteed Income Supplement for many seniors,
up to $600 for single seniors and $840 for cou-
ples,” said Sorenson.

using anti-bacterial soaps. They are great
for killing bacteria, however they kill the good
bacteria as well. So you shouldn’t use those
products all the time, you need good bacteria to
help your body fight off the bad bacteria.
2. Don’t touch… Avoid touching buttons
when you can. Like a public phone, or a
phone on another desk. Use your sleeve when
pressing the button in the elevator or use your
elbow. When you really think about it, in the
course of only one day we touch hundreds if not
thousands of things. Germs that cause viruses
and bacteria are within our touch everywhere
we go. It’s no wonder people get sick. I know
it’s impossible to go through your day and not
touch anything. But if you are more aware of the
germ environment around you, it can help you
avoid all the unnecessary instances. And keep
your hands away from your face.

Students provide those in need with everyday necessities

As part of a good works project, Miss Christensen’s Grade 4/5 class were proud to present the Calgary Mustard Seed with over
30 Homes in a Bag. The Home in a Bag program reaches out to those who live on the streets and are not ready to approach
anyone for help. The volunteers hit the streets as part of an outreach, to form trust with those who are in need and to hand out
necessities such as clean socks, shampoo, gloves, and a variety of other items. This program has been in effect for 10 years now
and successfully draws people, who might not have come to find shelter from strangers, to the shelter. The downtown location
sees over 600 people a day.
