Throughout the new release of Reuters
3000 Xtra, you will find key improvements
that make it easier and quicker to discover,
decide and act.
Now you can type virtually anything in a command line and
you will be offered a set of likely matches that can take you
quickly to the information you require. If you type anything
that is not recognised as a RIC, you are offered sensible
choices and asked, Did you mean?

Also, the command line remembers your previous codes,

one of the choices.

Build new screens in seconds Convenient calculators

We have made it simpler to build and change your own
screens. You can now create a useful new screen in seconds.
You can now drag displays from one pane to another. As you click and
drag, the display temporarily shows you the result of the change – if
you don’t like it, drag the cursor back and leave the change undone.
Our new calculators are incredibly easy to use, and you can
drop them into any screen that you build. Calculate yields
and cash flows for bonds or spreads for Credit Default
Swaps in seconds – you don’t need to build or manipulate
heavy-duty spreadsheets.
Although these are easy to use, they are based on the same
high-quality algorithms that underpin all the major displays –
you can have complete confidence in the data you see.

Insert the calculator in a screen or let

it float free as a pop-up, as shown here.

The most popular information types are available instantly in any

empty pane. Just click to select one, or to display the full list.

Similarly, it’s now easier to link panes. When you press

Ctrl+L to link a pane, you get a simple menu to choose
from. As you move the cursor over each item, the relevant
pane is highlighted, so there is no doubt what you are
linking to.
