This is one of the most exciting times of
the year. Spring has finally arrived and
Easter is next week.
I always enjoy focusing on the sacrifice
Christ made for each of us and how He
won victory over death, hell and the
grave. My prayer is that each and every
person reading this newsletter has come
to know the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior.
If you have not, my prayer is that you will
take a good look at what Jesus did for you
on Calvary and what He wants to do for
you today. Don’t forget the “Cross
Walk” at 1:00 pm this Sunday, the 17th.

Deacon’s Ministry
Spring is just around the corner. The
birds are singing, flowers and trees are
beginning to bloom. This is the time of
the year that life begins anew. As we
look around at the beauty God created we
should also take a look at ourselves.
What areas of our lives do we need to
renew? Is it a relationship with a family
member or co-worker, or is it our
relationship with God? We should
always want to strive to have a
relationship with our heavenly father that
is vibrant, refreshing and pleasing unto
him. We should all take the time to
refresh and renew our relationship with
God.

Sunday School
What’s the best resolution you could
make for the new year that will last for
the rest of their life? Praising God and
leading people in the direction of
knowing Christ. Invite them to Sunday
School. Southern Baptist Association
studies show if a person is coming to
Sunday School they are likely to accept
Christ and join the church later. So its
easy to say come to Sunday School with
me. Talk about the discussion of
previous lessons, and how they help in
everyday life. See you in Sunday School
and help lead someone to the gift of
eternal life.

Linda Green
Women on Missions
On Thursday, March 28th, Women on
Missions met at the home of Linda Green.
The program for the month was presented
by Sandra Knox Miller, a former member
of Weogufka Second Baptist Church.
Sandra is a writer for the Missions
Mosaic Magazine that we receive
monthly. She explained the new format
for the magazine and the process of
getting assignments for the year. She also
spoke about the article in this month’s
issue (which is attached here) entitled ,
“Go and Do V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N.” She
noted that even if we cannot go on
vacation and do mission work, we can
practice intentional acts of kindness to
others on a daily basis. Look for

something that you can do for someone
that will show your love and concern for
them. Have a servants heart and pray that
God will open your eyes to the needs of
others. You must put action to your
prayers.
Kelley Wright gave our scripture and
prayer focus for missionaries that had a
birthday on March 28th.
We will prepare Easter Baskets for our
project during the Month of April. Please
bring snack items, devotional books,
bible markers, small figurines, and
personal items for the baskets. These
may be placed in the large white basket in
the vestibule. We will prepare the
baskets for delivery on April 13th. If you
know of someone that needs an Easter
Basket, please turn the name into Linda
Green or Kelley Wright.

Children in Action (CIA)
We are so excited about Wednesday
nights! The CIA is for kids in the first
through the sixth grade. We are learning
about missionaries and the work they do
and also how we can do mission work
right here at home. Please come and join
us. We have a blast and you can learn a
lot and earn “Bible Bucks” to spend at the
Bible Bucks store at the end of every
month. There are several ways to earn
those Bible Bucks....come and join us.

Vacation Bible School

Are you ready for the Christian
Olympics?! I hope so, because the
opening ceremony will be July 17th. This
will be our VBS theme for this year and
the focus will be on running the race.
Our Scripture for the week is going to be
Hebrews 12:1 which says “Let us run
with endurance the race that is set before
us.”
The dates for VBS are July 17-20. In the
next few weeks I will be recruiting
coaches to lead each team. God lead me
to this curriculum last year and it looks
like a really good one. There will be a
parade of nations and a torch lighting in
the opening ceremony and awards given
during the closing ceremony. In between
will be a lot of fun and, hopefully, a lot of
learning about living the Christian life.
Please start now praying that God will
show you what role He wants you to fill
during VBS. We know that it takes us all
working together to make it happen.

Musical Notes
Judy Stocks
We are entering into the most beautiful
and special time of the year. The trees
and flowers that looked dead in the
winter are springing forth again with new
life. As we go forth this Easter season,
let's all remember that Jesus came to earth
and gave His life on calvary so we can
have that new life. We will be celebrating
His resurrection through song on Easter
morning with the choir and we ask you to
join us as we celebrate our Risen Lord
and Savior and give thanks for the
sacrifice He made for each one of us. Our
special service will begin April 24 at
10:00 a.m. I hope to see you there.

Church Fund Raiser
“Play Ground Project”

We still have those traditional Cook Books to
sell. We are encouraging our members to
“sign out” and sell a number of Cook Books
to help with the fund raising. Please call
Brooke Baird, who has been elected the
Director of the Play Ground Project, at
256-404-8219, to help with this much needed
fund raiser.
Business Meetings
Business meetings are held the second
Monday of every month at 6:00 pm. Please
bring a covered dish for supper and
fellowship before the meeting.

Neighborhood Watch
The monthly meeting for the Community
Neighborhood Watch is held on the 3 rd
Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm in the
Weogufka School Lunchroom. All area
residents are invited to attend. Just bring a
covered dish for supper.
