DAILY PRAYER OF A DIVINE WORD POSTULANT

Dear Jesus, the Good Shepherd, you started the Church, so that priests and their
co-workers in their apostolate might continue your mission. You called me into
the Society of the Divine Word to dedicate my life as a religious missionary.
Support me with your grace that I may fully commit myself to your service.
Strengthen me in my vocation and fill me with the sevenfold gifts of your Spirit.
Guide and enlighten me through your word and example. Lift up my heart in the
face of trouble and danger.

O Lord, grant that wherever I go the image of your crucifixion may go with me,
that in times of difficulty and crises I may learn from it, a true spirit of sacrifice.
Let me find strength and consolation in it in my weakness; through it let me find
light and firmness of spirit in every crisis of my vocation. O Lord grant me the
grace to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can
and the wisdom to know the difference.

O Lord, bless my parents, brothers, sisters, friends, relatives, superiors,

benefactors and others who help my growth. Give me the gift of perseverance that
I may reach my goal, and serve you with joy. Make me fully human and fully
alive, that I may work for the coming of your kingdom in my life and in the life of
others.

Come Holy Spirit:

Holy Spirit, open my heart to receive you today, that I may learn how deeply and
invisibly you are present everywhere. Give me stillness in your presence; calm me
within through the gentleness of your peace; strengthen my faith with the
awareness of your presence. Confirm the hope within me with the knowledge of
your gifts. Holy Spirit, be to me a source of light and strength and courage, so that
I may hear your call ever more clearly and follow it ever more generously. Amen.

May the darkness of sin and the night of unbelief, vanish before the light of the
Word and the Spirit of Grace;
And may the heart of Jesus live in the hearts of all.
Amen.
Comfort the tension within me, with a holy relaxation
Comfort the turbulence within, with a sacred calm
Comfort the anxiety within, with a quite confidence
Comfort the fear within, with a strong faith
Comfort the bitterness within, with a sweetness of grace
Comfort the darkness within, with a gentle light
Comfort the coldness within, with loving warmth
Comfort the winter within, with your spring

Straighten my crookedness, fill my emptiness, light the fire of your love, and keep
me always humble.

Let me see myself, as you see me. That I may see you as you have promised
and be fortunate to live by word. Amen

Holy Spirit, soul of my soul, I adore you. Enlighten, guide and strengthen and
console me. Tell me what I have to do and command me to do it. I promise to be
submissive in everything that you allow to happen in my life today. Only show
me what is your will.
