1. Distinction between Mission and Vision?

Vision: Vision defines the desired or intended future state of an organization or


enterprise in terms of its fundamental objective and/or strategic direction. Vision is a long
term view, sometimes describing how the organization would like the world in which it
operates to be. For example a charity working with the poor might have a vision
statement which read "A world without poverty"

Mission: Mission defines the fundamental purpose of an organization or an enterprise,


succinctly describing why it exists and what it does to achieve its Vision. It is sometimes
used to set out a 'picture' of the organization in the future. A vision statement provides
inspiration, the basis for all the organization's planning. It could answer the question:
"Where do we want to go?”.

The differences between vision and mission are as follows:-

2. What is Goal and Objective? Distinguish between Goal and


Objective.

Goals: A goal is a precise and measurable desired future state that a company attempts
it realize. Well constructed goals have four main characteristics:

1. They are precise and measurable.


2. They address crucial issues.
3. They are challenging but realistic.
4. They specify a time period.

Example: Expand my knowledge of obscure card games.

Objective: Objectives is the specific outcome during a specific period of time that
provides details about the goals of the plan.

Example: Learn how to play chess.

Difference between Goal and Objective: The differences between goal and
objectives are as follows:-

 While goals can be broad or general in nature, objectives should be clear and
concise

 Goals do not have to be specific enough to act on, but should give a future target
or list of things to work on. Objectives, however, need to be SMART—specific,
measurable, action-oriented, realistic, and timely—to accomplish the goals set for
the business.

3. What are the Criteria for sound objective?

The criteria for sound objectives are that it would be SMART that is specific, measurable,
action-oriented, realistic, and timely to accomplish the goals set for the business. These
are described below:-

 Specific objectives should be as detailed as possible.


 In order for the objectives to be measurable, it should state in terms of dollars or
quantities. Objectives are clear targets of performance as we can use to evaluate
the operation.
 Action oriented objectives state which actions need to be taken and who will take
them.
 Objectives should be realistic but challenging, with set deadlines in order to be
timely
