素胚勾勒出青花笔锋浓转淡
The hue grades bleached lightly on the ivory base to sketch a pattern
瓶身描绘的牡丹一如你初妆
And the peony drawn on its body is just as delicate as when you are at your best
冉冉檀香透过窗心事我了然
Perfume from sandalwood penetrates the window and easily unbosoms my heart
宣纸上走笔至此搁一半
I might as well stop my brush, leaving it half-done on the Xuan paper.
釉色渲染仕女图韵味被私藏
The charm of the Ladies rendered by its bright glaze is kept as a private collection
而你嫣然的一笑如含苞待放
But, your radiant and tender smile is like the flower in bud
你的美一缕飘散去到我去不了的地方
And is so beautiful as to spread and suffuse all over, and beyond my collection.
色白花青的锦鲤跃然於碗底
Blue carp leaps vigorously onto the bottom of the porcelain bowl
临摹宋体落款时却惦记著你
And, you leap into my mind while I was signing it.
你隐藏在窑烧里千年的秘密
You are like the art of making porcelainwares, remaining as a mystery in the kilns for thousands of
years
极细腻犹如绣花针落地
And are extreme smooth and exquisite as the fine embroidery.
帘外芭蕉惹骤雨门环惹铜绿
Outside the curtain, the plantain leaves have aroused a fit of rain while the knocker is arousing the
copper green
而我路过那江南小镇惹了你
And I have aroused your attention while the way is leading me through the small town of Jiang
Nan
在泼墨山水画里你从墨色深处被隐去
And now, your face fades in and out every now and then in my splash-ink painting.
天青色等烟雨而我在等你
The clear heaven dims its light to the verge of the horizon expecting the vast blur of mist and rain,
and I am longing for you.
炊烟袅袅升起隔江千万里
Smoke of kitchen fires rises up high, and we are far apart on either side of the torrential waters.

I could only imitate the elegance of the ancient calligraphy at the bottom of the bottle

To pound the pavement leading to your world.

In the enameled painting of maid figures,
endless grace lingers.
Your smile, fleeting but sweet,

It’s like a needle so delicate
dropping on the ground through quietude.

The outdoor plantain trees allured a sudden rain;
The copper knocker invited some greenish stain;
Never thought I’d brush past you in such a pretty scene.
Amid splash-ink paintings of Jiangnan hills and water,
your receding figure blended well into the picture.

The clearing-up blue is waiting for the preceding rain.
Another chance meeting with you, I’m expecting in vain.
Curls of cooking smoke are seen across the river,
but the distance between us stretches farther and farther.
On the porcelain base the official scripts of the Han Dynasty,
Borrowing the elegance of the ancient calligraphy,
I anticipate the chance
back to our first glance.

emerges your image in maiden dress.

Closed as the windows remain,
the incense rises and lays bare my bosom.
宣纸上 走笔至此搁一半
My brush pauses;
the painting half done,

till the portrait of a maiden is glazed,
hiding away memories fond.
而妳嫣然的一笑如含苞待放
Bursting into a smile,
you seem like a bud about to bloom.

The sky is blue enough to expect the rain;

across the river lies thousands of miles.
