But the question arises how a firm can select the beat suitable employees .There
are three steps that can help us to make a better selection.

1 Job analysis-Fist of all we should gather all the information about the nature of
the job like what kind of skills, experience personality, knowledge, qualification is
required for the job.

2 Job descriptions-Once we have all the information about the nature and needs
for the job we can explain this to the candidates those are interested and are
qualified for the job.

METHODS OF RECRUITMENT
The methods of recruitment are broadly divided
in two parts first we can recruit people from the firm and can recruit them from
external sources.

1INTERNAL SOURCES

The first source we have for recruitment is internal .It


consist of employees which enable quick availability of CVS to the HR
department earning better post through referrals benefits the employees &
getting good and talented candidates those can do batter for the firm.

The following are the guidelines for internal recruitment-

The person must have work experience of at least five years where he is eligible
for the job.

2 EXTERNAL RECRUITMENT-
External recruitment is conducted when internal
sources are not able to fill the vacancy and firm is looking for the new
employees. The following things are used for the external recruitment.

• PLACMENT AGENCIES AND CONSULTSNTS

One of the most important sources of recruitment is to communicate with


the placement agencies and get the employees from there .But the only
problem in this is that it is very expensive .Firm may have to pay a huge
amount for commission to the age

• ADVERTISMENT

It is the most famous and easy way of recruitment now


a days, firms give a advertisement in the news papers like times of
India ,Hintustan Times .Then people apply for the job with their CVS .

 Advertising in national news papers

 Advertising in local news paper

 Notice board

 Use of internet

 Radio

• CENTRAL EMLOYMENT EXCHANGE

HR managers contacts the


central employment exchange from where the pick up the best suitable
candidates for firm.

But it may have some drawbacks like it is very expensive to get the
employees through consultants or agencies .So if we are using external
sources to recruit the employees then we should be very careful about the
cost that the firm has to pay as their commission.

the application of the applicants those do not fulfill the
requirement of the job like education qualifications, age,
experience and any other requirement of the job.

♦ Once we are done with the preliminary interview


the next step in selection is application blank .In
this step the applicant supply the information about
him like status of his family religion, cast and his
hopes from the job like salary, working hours and
funds .

3. EMPLOYMENT TEST

♦ Psychological and other test are getting importance


in developing countries like India .But there are a
lots of questions about the importance of all these
tests.

4. EMPLOYMENT INTERVIEW

♦ In real this is the most important part of selection


.In this the candidate has to face a interview .In this
interview many questions are asked related to the
job .This may be different as per the nature of the
job.

5. REFEREENCE CHECK

Employer generally provide a column of reference in the


application form .In this the candidate provides reference
about his last job, education and character

6. MEDICAL EXAMINATION

Once we done with all the above given steps then tern comes
to the medical examination .This is applicable almost all over
the world in every firm.

 FINAL SELECTION

The selection process ends with the final selection of the


candidate .Firm offer him a fixed salary and responsibility.
