cc c c c ASSIGNMENT NO 1.

AIM: To explore simple objects like comb, thread,


rubber band, tooth brush and bottle, etc.

TOOLS USED: Comb, poster colors.

EXPERIENCE: It was great fun exploring this technique,


just using any part of it and creating random patterns.

LEARNING OUTCOME: I learned how a simple object


can be creatively used to design a simple white sheet
in extra ordinary ways. Each student had a different
idea how to handle with their respective tools and it
was really amazing to see different patterns come out
from each tool.
ASSIGNMENT NO 2.

AIM: To depict (i) gravity vs buoyancy


(ii) formality vs informality
(iii) harmony vs dissonance
With one dot, two dots and multiple dots for each
category.

TOOLS USED: A-3 cartridge sheets and black


marker/black paint

EXPERIENCE: It was a deep thinking exercise which


started with full enthusiasm but unfortunately ended
up being slightly boring.

LEARNING OUTCOME: It really helped me in


discovering my capabilities in showing abstract
qualities through dots.
ASSIGNMENT NO 3.

AIM: To depict different emotions in a page


through one dot.

TOOLS USED: A-3 cartridge sheets, HB pencils.

EXPERIENCE: I felt light after depicting my


emotions on the page.

LEARNING OUTCOME: It was beneficial to learn


how each person in the class had differently
expressed their emotions in a different manner.
ASSIGNMENT NO 4.

AIM: To use dots to express your view of independent


India.

MATERIALS USED: Colored papers, magazine papers, glue,


scissors, half imperial chart paper.

LIMITATIONS: The cut-outs shouldn͛t have any


resemblance with the already existing objects or humans.

EXPERIENCE: It was fun to work in groups ,having small


arguments with each other and it was also fun to guess
what the other groups had tried to express through their
dots.

LEARNING OUTCOME: The discussions after the work


showed me the various possibilities with dots.
ASSIGNMENT NO 5.

AIM: To practice drawing straight lines from:


(i)c Corner to corner
(ii)c Edge to edge
(iii)c Continuous lines without lifting up the
pencils both horizontally and vertically.

TOOLS USED: A-3 cartridge sheets, HB pencils.

EXPERIENCE: I started the work with lots of patience


but ended up losing all of it.

LEARNING OUTCOME: Improved the line quality by


being straighter in the later attempts.
ASSIGNMENT NO 6.

AIM: To understand the proportions by practicing


drawing circles and squares without using any ruler or
compass.

TOOLS USED: A-3 cartridge sheets and HB pencils.

EXPERIENCE: It was really an interesting exercise and I


enjoyed it.

LEARNING OUTCOME: It made me have a better


understanding of the proportions of squares and
circles so that I could draw them without the use of a
scale and compass respectively.
ASSIGNMENT NO 7.

AIM: To play with basic shapes like squares, circles


and triangles.

TOOLS USED: 4 black half imperial chart paper, 1


white half imperial chart paper, white and black ink
and paint brushes.

EXPERIENCE: It was a playful exercise and as it was the


first exercise with brushes and paints, it was fun to
explore the intensity and hue.

LEARNING OUTCOME: It taught me space utilization.


ASSIGNMENT NO 8.

AIM: To understand the basic concepts of design:


(i)c Shape
(ii)c Form
(iii)c Balance
(iv)c Unity and variety
(v)c Harmony
(vi)c Rhythm
(vii)c Emphasis

TOOLS USED: Camera, window or frame.

EXPERIENCE: It was fun hunting for the work


representing the different concepts in the best
way ,amongst everybody͛s work.

LEARNING OUTCOME: By the end we had a better


understanding of the various concepts.
ASSIGNMENT NO. 9

AIM: To express abstract qualities through


lines.

TOOLS USED: A-3 cartridge sheet, black pen or


marker.

EXPERIENCE: The energy level was high


throughout the exercise.

LEARNING OUTCOME: It actually looked like


different fonts. So it was nice to discover new
fonts in my initials.
