“Just TRAILS” Jamborees
include Friday and Saturday
night family-style dinners, but
give Jamboree guests the opportunity to
brown bag it, prepare their own home-
cooked specialties or try charming local
restaurants for their other meals. As an

trips allow JJUSA to pass the savings
on to you, making these trips even more

WHAT’S A JEEP JAMBOREE? It’s a full

two-day, family-oriented four-wheel-drive
adventure that’s probably unlike anything
you’ve ever experienced. Jeep Jamborees
®
cater to every level of expertise, so they’re fun
for everyone — from novice to veteran and
everyone in between. Any Jeep vehicle with
a 4LO transfer case can participate — that
includes everything from showroom stock all
the way up to highly modified rigs.
Experienced guides help navigate you
through scenic switchbacks and some of the
most challenging off-highway situations you
never thought your Jeep vehicle was capable
of. And, perhaps best of all, you’ll be meeting
and making new friends every day.
WHAT’S THE TYPICAL ITINERARY? Actual
itineraries vary trip to trip, but here’s a sample:
THURSday
Evening Registration (5–7 p.m.): Upon
arrival at your local Jamboree headquarters,
attendees register, select trails, meet with
others, and have their Jeep vehicles
inspected for trail capability. Participants
receive name tags, meal coupons, and
stickers at on-site registration.
Friday
Breakfast (6:30–8 a.m.): A hearty breakfast
is served to all Classic Jamboree participants.
(“Just Trails” adventurers supply own breakfast.)
Mandatory General Attendance
Meeting (8:30 a.m.): A brief orientation
covers proper technique and details about the
day’s activities.
Depart for Trails (9 a.m.): Participants
assemble for departure into the backcountry.
Lunch Along the Trail (noon): A few
hours into the trip, we’ll break to regroup for
lunch. The site chosen often has breathtaking
views. (“Just Trails” adventurers supply own lunch.)
Trail Ride Continues: Participants push
farther down trail, crossing streams,
negotiating boulders, and conquering steep
grades — all under the watchful eyes of
veteran Jeep Jamboree guides.
Dinner (6–7:30 p.m.): As the afternoon
draws to a close, all vehicles return to a
predetermined site where dinner is served
and the day’s adventures are shared. (“Just
Trails” adventurers are included.)

appreciate the area’s natural beauty and your

Everyone gathers for dinner. (Including “Just
Trails” adventurers.)
WHO CAN I BRING? Whoever you want! As
long as they each have a required seat belt in
your Jeep 4x4. Bringing pets is strongly
discouraged. If your pet must attend, be sure
to contact the Jeep Jamboree USA office for
specific requirements.
HOW DO I MAKE A RESERVATION, AND
WHERE DO I SEND IT? Send your

that includes a list of motels, campgrounds,
and RV accommodations in the area. When
making reservations, be sure to mention
you’re attending a Jeep Jamboree. Please
note that rates are subject to tax and may
change without notice.

Individual Jamboree fees vary. Please see

ROOKIE? No. There’s a mix of first-timers
(about 33 percent, in fact) and veterans —
who may be on their sixth Jamboree.
WHAT DOES THE JAMBOREE COVER?
Your fee covers all necessary permits,
experienced guides for the entire trip, and
three meals on both Friday and Saturday (“Just
Trails” adventures include evening meals only). NOTE:
Meals vary. Regretfully, no accommodations
can be made for special diets or dietary
restrictions. You will have access to some
of the finest trails in America — several of
which are only available through this program.
Each Jamboree also features a giveaway for
chances to win great prizes. Sorry, no partial
trips or meal-only options are offered and no
spectators are allowed. All participants must
be officially registered.
May I BRING MY JEEP LIBERTY,
CHEROKEE, compass, patriot,
GRAND CHEROKEE, OR COMMANDER?
Of course! Most new Jeep 4x4 vehicles with
a 4LO transfer case are Trail Rated and are
®
tested on demanding 4x4 trails. See page
5 for guidelines. Wrangler is the recommended
vehicle for the Rubicon Trail Jamboree. Your
Jeep four-wheel-drive vehicle is required to be
street legal, in good condition, with good tires,
brakes, and seat belts. In addition, we require
prior approval for larger Jeep 4x4s, such as
Grand Wagoneers and J-Series Pickups. Jeep
Jamboree USA reserves the right to refuse
participation to any applicant whose vehicle
exceeds size restrictions.
COULD MY VEHICLE BE DAMAGED ON
A JAMBOREE? Every effort is made by
Jeep Jamboree USA to make the trails as
safe as possible. Participants are advised
to closely follow instructions given by trail
guides, spotters, and Jeep Jamboree USA.
However, there’s the possibility of damage
to your vehicle when traveling rough terrain.
Any damage is the owner’s responsibility.
Jamborees with higher difficulty ratings
(page 5) are likelier to encounter terrain
that may contribute to vehicular damage.
Participants are required to sign a waiver
form. (See page 16 for Authentic Jeep Accessories by
® 5 p.m. Pacific time, PO Box 1601, Georgetown, CA
Mopar that can help protect your vehicle from damage.)
IS THERE MORE THAN ONE TRAIL AT A
GIVEN DESTINATION? It varies. Most Jeep
Jamborees feature multiple trails with varying
degrees of difficulty.

CAN MY FRIEND WHO OWNS A TOYOTA
ALSO PARTICIPATE? Only if he or she rides
in your Jeep 4x4! Jeep Jamborees are strictly
for Jeep 4x4s.
DOES MY JEEP 4x4 NEED SPECIAL
EQUIPMENT FOR A JAMBOREE? Yes! The
following is MANDATORY for all vehicles:
> Jeep vehicles must have four-wheel drive
(4WD) with a low-range (4LO) transfer case.
Patriot and Compass vehicles equipped
with 4WD systems may participate in Jeep
Jamborees with trail ratings of 1 or 2
> Front and rear tow hooks must be
properly mounted to the frame with
grade-eight bolts
> Drawbars, receiver hitches, or aftermarket
bumpers with manufacturer-installed clevis
or D-ring anchor points are acceptable
alternates to tow hooks. If you don’t have
tow hooks, you may be turned away
without a refund
> All open-topped vehicles, including older
Trail Ratings

beverages, 8) A portable chair for lunch on

offers some of the best rock-crawling
opportunities in the country. Jeep ®®

will enjoy the majestic scenery on the
72,000 acres of off-road bliss. The more
difficult trails include off-cambers, hill
climbs, rocks, and mud. Experienced
anglers consider the nearby Clinch River
tailwater to be one of the finest trout
fisheries in the country. The valley
through which the river flows is a pastoral
setting of wooded ridges, limestone
escarpments, and pastures. The banks
are lined with huge sycamores and silver
maples. Tow hooks mandatory.

Centered around Batsto
Historic Village, many of the trails date
back to the 17 century when they were

used to transport bog ore to be made
into cannon balls for the Continental
Army during the Revolutionary War.
Since then, many more trails have been
established by the Forest Service in this
area known as the Pine Barrens,
encompassing 1 million acres of pine
forests, cedar swamps, and streams.
Water flows from the Kirkwood-
Cohansey aquifer — one of the largest
on the continent. There is usually an
abundance of water, so expect to get
your feet wet and your Jeep 4x4 muddy
in the many mud holes and water
crossings. Tow hooks mandatory.

LLANO, TX — Saddle
up and hit the trails in
the heart of Texas Hill Country. This
Jamboree offers some of the most
challenging terrain in Texas. Held at the
historic Inks Ranch, this trip includes
granite domes, rock climbs, sandy
draws, and several scenic vistas.
Located near Enchanted Rock State
Natural Area, our trail system winds
around Watch Mountain, a 300-ft wall of
granite. You may even spot some
wildlife, such as aoudad, axis deer,
blackbuck, and bald eagles!

remote canyon country, this Jamboree
takes you through the area of cliffs the
Anasazi Indians called home. Visitors
can view ancient inscriptions and
traverse the challenging canyon trails.

your spare time, you’ll want to visit the
Dinosaur Museum – for in this land, the
mighty allosaurus once ruled – and
Edge of the Cedars Museum, both in

Travel responsibly on designated roads and trails or in permitted areas.
Respect the rights of others, including private property owners and all recreational trail users, campers and
others, to allow them to enjoy their recreational activities undisturbed.
Educate yourself by obtaining travel maps and regulations from public agencies, planning for your trip, taking
recreation skills classes, and knowing how to use and operate your equipment safely.
Avoid sensitive areas such as meadows, lakeshores, wetlands and streams, unless on designated routes.
This protects wildlife habitat and sensitive soils from damage.
Do your part by leaving the area better than you found it, properly disposing of waste, minimizing the use of fire,
avoiding the spread of invasive species, restoring degraded areas, and joining a local enthusiast organization.

2009 Release and Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement to Jeep Jamboree USA ®

In consideration of being permitted to participate in any event sponsored,
promoted, or directed by Jeep Jamboree USA (a division of Mark A.
Smith Off-Roading, Inc., a California corporation) (“the corporation”), the
undersigned (driver and passengers), for himself/herself, his/her personal
representatives, heirs and next of kin HEREBY RELEASES Mark A. Smith Off-
Roading, Inc., Chrysler LLC, and its and their respective parent corporations,
subsidiaries, officers, directors, promoters, sponsors, employees, and agents
(“releasees”) of all liability to the undersigned, whether caused by the
negligent act or omission of releasees or otherwise while the undersigned is
for any purpose participating in such event. It is fully understood by each of
the undersigned that there is some inherent risk associated with this event,
including damage to vehicles.
IN ADDITION, the undersigned AGREES TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS
the releasees from any loss, liability, damage, or cost they incur due to such
participation by the undersigned and any passengers (including minors),
whether caused by releasees’ negligence or otherwise, and AGREES TO
ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY AND RISK for any bodily injury, death,
or property damage from releasees’ negligence or otherwise while the
undersigned is participating at this event.
In signing this release, each of the undersigned hereby acknowledges and represents the following:
1 . That he or she has read the foregoing Release and
Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement, and
understands that he/she is assuming liability and
indemnifying releasees for any damage or injuries.
2. That he or she shall at all times, while riding in
a vehicle participating in this event, wear his or
her respective seat and shoulder belts.
3. That the owner/driver certifies he/she has
inspected this vehicle and same is in good
mechanical condition.
4. That the owner/driver has informed himself/
herself about the event and trail conditions
involved in the event, either by prior participation
or by investigation into the event and trail.
5. The undersigned agrees to the following:
• All occupants of vehicle will be registered
• Vehicle has valid proof of insurance and
current vehicle registration
• No occupants of vehicle will consume alcohol
while on any trail ride. Doing so means
immediate expulsion with no refund
• No firearms, fireworks, or sirens on/in vehicle
• There will be at least one person
18 years or older who will be responsible for
occupants of vehicle
• Vehicle is equipped with tow hooks
attached to the frame according to
Mopar specifications
• Mark A. Smith Off-Roading, Inc./Jeep
Jamboree USA, and Chrysler LLC and its
subsidiaries and parent corporations will
not be held responsible for any ­damage
that may occur to the vehicle while
attending the Jamboree
• Violation of these rules will result in
the termination of all participants’
participation in the Jamboree and
the forfeiture of all registration fees
• We agree to abide by the rules, guidance,
and ­instruction of Jeep Jamboree USA and
the principles of Tread Lightly! Inc.
• All drivers must have a valid
driver’s license

WAIVER MUST BE SIGNED BY ALL PARTICIPANTS. For a participant

under the age of 18 years, a parent with legal custody, or the minor’s
legal guardian must sign this release form and write the word “minor”
