PREFACE

This report prepared during the BBA, 2ND yr is life’s greatest treasure as it is full of
experience, observation and knowledge.

The visit to the company is gainful as it looks me closer to real life. What have been
studied in these years through was seen implemented and modified in practical
form.

The only drawback was that the time available in hand was short and there was
much to learn yet these things shall never be forgotten and are of great help in the
future.
 INTRODUCTION
ABOUT THE COMPANY

Rainbow ink and coatings Mfg co. is engaged in the production of printing inks and
auxiliaries. The company is started by 2 partners , Mr. Sanjeev Sharma And Mr. Shabbir
A. Contractor. The registered office of the company is situated in Delhi. The Company
having its factory premises in Kundali, Haryana.
In October 2007, when there was huge demand of Inks in North India market
then owners decided to open the company to meet the demand of north Indian market.
Capacity of the factory is approx. 360 Ton per annum. There are 20 employees and
workers in the branch. Company supplies near about 15 Tons of in Delhi market every
month. Rainbow Inks is leading organization in manufacturing printing inks and
auxiliaries. Rainbow Inks & coatings Mfg. Company is a leader in many fields like in
manufacturing silk screen inks. Company is providing best quality of products at good
prices.
Company is constantly upgrading technology and introducing innovative products.
Company has its own in- house research & development laboratory and one of the best
customer care cell.
Company has a very effective distribution system. Company has spreaded its
wings to almost al the parts of north, through the distributors at Delhi, Jallandhar,
Ludhiyana, Lucknow, Jaipur, Agra, Haryana.

SILK SCREEN INKS

1. Vinylsheen Inks- Gloss inks for PVC: - Used for gloss full printing.

2. PVC Inks- Matt inks for PVC: - Used for rough printing.

3. Auxiliaries For all PVC Inks – Used to dilute or concentrate the inks.

4. Polystik Inks – Ideal for high density polyester.

5. Tejasviny Screen Inks – Most versatile inks for screen printing.

6. Pap Gloss Inks – High gloss quick drying inks suitable for; Glass, Polypropylene, Tin

& Aluminium.

7. Balloon Inks – Specially developed for balloon printing. It is highly flexible and

satisfactory in colour punch.

8. Resham Gloss Inks – Ideal for glossy finish on; paper, Metal, Board, Acrylic & Glass.

9. Matt Inks – Ideal for; Paper, Board, Cloth- Banners, Thermocol etc.

10. PCB Inks – Inks & Aids for printed circular board.

║AUXILIARY INKS║

1. Spot Gloss Coating – For packaging, labels, etc.

2. Spot Matt Coating – For packaging, labels, etc.

3. Anti Set- Off Spray Powder – Allows trouble free lamination/varnishing.

4. Pressroom Aids – Roller wash, blanket wash, night guard etc.

5. Anti Scum Aid – Effective aid to overcome scumming problem.

6. Aids for consistency – Reducing aid & thin aid.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS:
-

The raw materials used for manufacturing printing inks are pigments, varnishes and
extenders. In the 1st step pigments, varnishes and extenders are mixed in a container
under high speed stirrer. Varnishes acts as a solvent. While extenders & pigments acts as
a solute.
In 2nd step the above premix goes for grinding on triple roll mill and bead mill. In this
step solution is grinded properly to get a good and particle less mixture.
After grinding when solution becomes very hot then they are left for some time to get
them cool.
After cooling, the sample goes to quality control department. They checks the quality of
the ink and if there is any problem then Q/C department suggests some alterations. After
alterations by production department again quality is checked. After getting specified
quality lab gives approval to the inks. Finally inks are given for packaging.
Packaging personals fixes logos and now product is ready for sale.
