HIGHLIGHTS

Study of chemical process and unit process. I worked as a undergraduate student

trainee to study the unit process involved in the above chemical industries and studied overall
plant design and reported modified process parameters to optimize the process and increase the
product manufacturing and thereby enhancing production of the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working as a process Engineer in TRICHY Distilleries and Chemicals Ltd., (an

ISO9001-2000 company) in Ester plant - Continuous Process Operation.

• Directly reporting to the Senior production manager manufacturing section will be

incumbent will be responsible to :

• Monitoring the compliance with all quality related standards and procedures
(process related procedures, work instructions, process parameters, calibration
programs, as per GMP, ISO norms )

• Responsible for the manufacturing operations of Ethyl acetate (40TPD)

• Involved in the process improvement of optimization, troubleshooting, and

equipment start up, shut down & safety procedures as per ISO norms, GMP
Procedures.

• Involved in handling atmospheric, azeotropic, vacuum distillation columns,

scrubbers, preheaters, heat exchangers, catalytic cracking furnaces and all
 types of chemical equipments.

• To optimize all phases of process control, production, and apply computer skills to
chemical process analysis, automated control systems, and statistical quality
control using PID controllers.

• Shut-down and Start-up of the Processing unit, Plant isolations, preparing

maintenance and re-commissioning activities following the procedures and the
Permit to the Work system.
• Recording Production reports: Daily Production Report, Fortnightly Report, Plant
activities, process parameters by hourly basis.

• Direct and perform routine maintenance on all equipment &maintain an up to date

knowledge of specific contractual requirements relating to the maintenance,
inspection, and operation of equipment.
• Work closely with Operations Support staff: Production engineers, Site
Supervisors, Compliance engineers.
• Participate in the company’s training and competence program.
• To maintain accurate logs, reports and invoices for appropriate decision-making.

• Responsible for all aspects of chemical and project implementation for various
processes, including:

♦ Developing project scopes and project costs estimates.

♦ Computer simulation and hand calculation of heat and material and
energy balance calculations.
♦ Preparing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrument
Diagrams (P&IDs), process data sheets, process equipment packages
and Cost estimation projects.
♦ Reviewing all aspects of design and construction for consistency and
safety, including leading HAZOP and pre-startup (PSSR) reviews.
♦ Independently handling Shift production and proper organizing
manpower In accordance with quality, safety, and reliability.

♦ Responsible for delivering the quality Production as per Production

plan.

♦ Leading a team of Engineering trainees and workers in project design

efforts.

 • Involved in Erection, Commissioning and process operations and preparing
batch documentations of bulk drugs like DINITRO DIBENZYL IN OUR PLANT.
