Librarian Experience

• 2001-Present: Librarian, Saint Mary's College, Moraga. Business Subject


Specialist. Collaborate with faculty in the School of Economics and Business
Administration and Extended Education Management Program and the MA in
Leadership Program to provide instruction, reference and collection development
in the business, accounting, economics and management subject areas. Provide
general reference service at the reference desk and via e-mail and phone for all
subject areas. Assess the Library’s collection in the business subject area,
selecting and weeding books, electronic resources, and periodicals. Arrange trials
of new business databases for business faculty and colleagues. Train colleagues in
business reference sources and methods. Create lesson plans, assessment tools,
web pages, online tutorials and integrated course work for various courses,
including undergraduate and graduate level business, management, leadership,
economics, accounting, and composition courses. Developed integrated course
work for High Potential, scholarship students’ intensive summer academic
preparation/immersion program. Participate in development of library’s programs
and policies by serving on reference, collection development, instruction, and web
development teams. As co-coordinator of instruction (2004-2005) initiated new
methods of scheduling instruction and led assessment study of student
bibliographies in the English Composition program. Developed Web usability
study for Extended Education students. Designed template for “By Subject”
library Web page. Served on Graduate Policies Committee (2001-2007) While on
GPC, helped create capacity study for graduate and adult programs at Saint
Mary’s College. Elected to Staff Council, 2006. Promoted to Full Librarian 2007.
• 1995-2001: Reference Librarian, Oakland Public Library, Oakland. Instruct
public in use of library materials and computers. Provide reference service in Art,
Music, Recreation, History/Literature and Business, Social Science, Science and
Documents departments. (3 years full-time equivalent.)

Developed online research skills course, LIS 101. Taught classes in library

course. Developed a syllabus for and taught linked reading and writing course.
