User Interface Checklist

It represents as a guideline and reference for the web application user interface checklist testing.

8 Are all the field prompts aligned perfectly on the
screen/window?
9 Are all the fields edit boxes aligned perfectly on the
screen/window?
10 Are all group boxes aligned correctly on the
screen/window?
11 Are all character or alphanumeric fields left justified?
This is the default unless otherwise specified.
12 Are all numeric fields right justified? This is the default
unless otherwise specified.
13 Required fields retrieved from the DB should have a
default value. The user must either enter an alternative
valid value or leave the default value intact.
14 Are the screen/window and field colors adjusted
correctly for read-only mode?
15 Should a read-only mode be provided for this
screen/window?
16 Are all fields and controls disabled in read-only mode?
17 Assure that (Save) and (Cancel) buttons are grouped
separately from other command buttons.
18 Assure that the screen/window does not have a cluttered
appearance
19 Do non-button graphics have their own design
properties distinct from that of buttons?
20 Are buttons grouped logically and located where the
user is likely to be looking?
21 Does every menu have a title?
22 Does text appear clearly and with normal margins and
spacing?
23 The window’s title bar text is the same as the one in
the page.

throughout a product.
