Catalog of Courses

1) Future Weapons Technology Available to Domestic Terrorist, Part I

The application of new readily available technology, in particular microprocessors and
electronic sensors, allows the easy manufacture of high quality, very effective weapons
optimized for insurgency activities. Course is taught using a microprocessor trainer now
widely used in middle schools, high schools, junior colleges and even universities. The
student prototype circuits then test programs that demonstrate concepts and principles
directly applicable to microprocessor weapon devices. Investigate several actual weapon
designs such as drop mines, Limpet mines and Butterfly mines. Introduction to other
weapon concepts such as using GPS for suicide bombers and cruise missiles, automatic
nitrators and acid distillers, altimeter fuzes and an electronic hostage system which allow
terrorists to remotely hold hostages.

2) Future Weapons Technology Available to Domestic Terrorist, Part II

A continuation of the above course expanding on the principles learned in Part I to
include details on weapon devices introduced in Part I. Student gains experience using
GPS modules which may be used in bomb devices such as truck and car bombs or
building cruise missiles from home built airplane designs. Radio frequency data links are
used to demonstrate the basics of an electronic hostage system. Lab work allows students
to build sensor circuits and test with microprocessors using provided software, then
continue to build basic demonstrators of advance weapon devices. Part I is prerequisite to
Part II.

3) Basic Electronic’s Technology for Bomb Technicians

Using an off the shelf electronic trainer for prototyping, the student learns the basics of
electronics by actual experience. Circuits are prototyped on the trainer and the student
performs tests and measurements to learn how electronic circuits work and what can be
done with this technology. Course covers passive circuits and an introduction to active
circuits (transistors and FETs). This course is designed for those having little to no
electronic back ground with the objective of preparing the student to master the more
advanced electronic circuits taught in the Analog and Digital electronic course described
below.

4) Analog and Digital Circuits and their Application to Bomb Devices

A continuation of the basic electronics course, the student is taught analog circuits with
both discreet and integrated devices (Op amps and Comparators) as applicable to likely
bomb devices. The course continues into digital electronics and the basic circuit modules
available and how they operate. Introduction to the different families of digital integrated
circuits, plus interfacing to power control circuits which may be used in conjunction with
digital circuits. The scope of the course is to teach those electronic principles and basic
circuits likely to be used in terrorist weapon devices.
5) Application of Command Arm and Detonated Mines to Criminal and
Terrorist Activities
This is a practical course where students learn by using a mockup field exercise of a
typical mine system using both command arm mines and command detonate mines.
There are mockups for both urban systems and rural systems as might be use by those
trafficking and transporting illicit drugs. The student learns the basic construction
techniques for such mines using commonly obtainable parts and materials, and how they
can be used to construct actual mine fields. Additionally, students learn the basics of
reconnaissance to detect the presences of such mines, how to extricate personnel and
wounded from active mine fields, and methods to deactivate such systems. Course is
intended for both bomb technicians and SWAT team members.

6) Modern Insurrection Methods Applied to Domestic Terrorist

Drawing from Michael Collins, who pioneered modern insurrection techniques during the
Irish rebellion, the student learns the basic mechanics of a modern insurrection, that is an
insurrection in a nation having modern communications. By using examples, the student
is exposed to typical tactics, targets and operations likely to be encountered in any attempt
at a domestic insurrection. Additionally, students study the present forces now at work,
which could result in domestic terrorist activity. Emphasis is on both insurgency -
counter insurgency being largely intelligence operations. Course is for any member of
law enforcement.
