At the Summit, we’re striving to climb to new heights with Jesus. These five devotionals are suggestions of activities to do as a family to help your family
to climb closer to Jesus together at home during the week. This tool is intended to help you lead a family worship time. Please go to God in worship as a
family on a regular basis even if you do not use this resource. If your family completes one of the devotionals parents can initial in the boxes below and
the child will receive a buck for every devotional completed.

Devotional One, Read: Read the following verses Jesus
dying and rising again.
Scriptures to consider: John 12:30; Psalm 22; Hebrews
13:10-12; John 19; Matthew 28
Devotional Two, Pray: Jesus prayed in the Garden of
Gethsemane for the Father’s will to be done. We should
pray also that what God wants will be accomplished in our
lives. Pray asking God to show you what He wants you
to do, read God’s word, and live the way God wants ask
Him for His help.

Devotional Three, Mold: Peter denied Jesus three times
but just a matter of days later, he was preaching to thou-
sands of people. The Lord used Peter’s mishaps to mold
him into a better follower. Ask God to mold you.
Mold the details of the cross found in Matthew’s gospel.
Devotional Four, Build: Build a scene from Numbers 21:4-
9 using Legos, Duplos, Mega Blocks, or some other kind of
building toy. See if you can use these blocks to get all of
the details right. Talk with your parents about how this
story might relate to the one we learned on Sunday.

Devotional Five, Sing: I love hymns. Hymns are songs
that people might have been singing for hundreds of
years. One of my favorites is “Hallelujah, What a Sav-
ior” With your parent’s help, look up this song on the
internet or in a hymn book. See if you can find the story
behind the song. Talk about this song and what it means.
A good resource is “www.cyberhymnal.org,” you can listen
and read the lyrics and read about the hymn. See if you
can sing the hymn once you’re finished learning about it.
Devotional Six, Serve: Jesus came to serve us. He washed
His disciples’ feet telling them they should serve one an-
other. Serving takes sacrifice (coming to the end of your-
self). Jesus sacrificed by dying for our sin. We don’t have
to die to serve but we should follow Jesus’ example by
thinking of ourselves last. Think of some people that need
something, how can you help them? Ask your parents if
you can take some cookies to your neighbors. Tell your
neighbors that you’re doing this because Jesus gave you
something so special.
