connected to the church and

anger—forgive and move on.

Be a part of a local church
and tithe.
The most important book on
love and life is the Bible.
Good folks are everywhere,
but the South has an
unusually large number of
them.
Don’t be judgmental if you
don’t have all the facts.
Balance is important in life
and in sports.
Parents and grandparents are
wiser than you currently
believe.
Exercise daily—it’s more
important as you age.
Negotiate with your father
after a good meal.

Sundays in May
May 8 - Mother’s Day
All mothers will be recognized and honored in our morning worship service. We have a
special gift for each lady. Come and join your mother at church on her special day.

May 15 - Children’s Sunday

This Sunday will be for children and about children. Kids For
Christ will sing, and you will have the opportunity to catch a
glimpse into our children’s ministry on Sunday mornings. It will
be a day you won’t forget! Anyone interested in having their baby
dedicated is encouraged to contact the church office.

May 22 - Graduation Sunday

Our graduating seniors will be recognized during the morning worship service. Our
graduates this year are Alley Rice and Marisa Sammons. See the article about these
young ladies on Page 3. Also on this date, Paul and Kattia Jones, our Living Link Missionar-
ies to Bolivia will join us in the morning worship service. It will be a privilege to have
them here and to hear the amazing things God is doing in their work in Bolivia.

Opening day for Camp Charac-
ter is scheduled for 6:45 p.m.,
Wednesday, June 1.
This year’s camp “Camp Char-
acter-Survivor!” will focus on
Bible characters who were
survivors. People like Joshua,
Caleb, David, Noah, and many
others have so much to teach
us about what it takes to sur-
vive in our spiritual lives.
Each week will be filled with
exciting Bible stories, object
lessons, survivor games, crafts,
snacks, experiments, and
much more!
Make plans now to join us
each week.

Alley Rice is
the daughter of
Barry & Deanna
Rice and a
graduate of
Paintsville High
School. She is
the student body
vice president and a four-year member of
the varsity cheerleading squad. Alley has
been a member of Dance, Etc. Studio for
11 years and has been involved in Inter-
act Club, Beta Club, Pep Club, FCCLA,

Prayer has always been used in this coun-
try for guidance, protection and strength
-even before we were a nation or a
handful of colonies. The Pilgrims at Ply-

God’s Angels on Earth
A baby asked God, "They tell me you
are sending me to earth tomorrow, but
how am I going to live there being so
small and helpless?"
"Your angel will be waiting for you and
will take care of you."
The child further inquired, "But tell me,
here in heaven I don't have to do any-
thing but sing and smile to be happy."
God said, "Your angel will sing for you
and will also smile for you. And you will
feel your angel's love and be very
happy."
Again the child asked, "And how am I
going to be able to understand when
people talk to me if I don't know the
language?"
God said, "Your angel will tell you
the most beautiful and sweet words
you will ever hear, and with much
patience and care, your angel will
teach you how to speak."
"And what am I going to do when I
want to talk to you?"
God said, "Your
angel will place
your hands to-
gether and will
teach you how to
pray."
"Who will protect me?"
God said, "Your angel will defend
you even if it means risking its life."
"But I will always be sad because I
will not see you anymore."

from Earth could be
