Two year M.Tech programs at all Institutes
These programs provide for compulsory core courses, elective subjects and intensive project work in the
respective area of specialization. The objective of the M.Tech profram is to impart advanced level knowledge
in the field of specialization making the students suited to better academia as well as industry and assume
responsibilities requiring greater research, design and development aptitude. Through compulsory core
subjects the students acquire a state‐of‐the‐art advanced knowledge in a chosen field of specialization. The
elective courses give the opportunity to further specialize in the field depending on his/her interest and the
future career plans. For project work, students are required to take‐up problems on a particular topic in the
field to focus their study and work. They are required to submit a dissertation/report at the end of the project
work compiling their study, findings and contributions. M.Tech project and dissertation work usually enables
students to publish their results. Project work prepares the students’ mind to take up challenging research and
development tasks. Seminars are part of the M.Tech curriculum for which students collect material on specific
current topics and make presentations

Engineering for analyzing and controlling environmental pollution, control technologies, management practices and
sustainable development. The course offers a wide variety of electives in areas like clean technologies, membrane
separation processes, resource conservation, water quality management and solid waste management.
¾ Two‐year M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (JUET)
In recent times, manufacturing organizations are finding good scope of computers integrated with latest
technologies and managerial skills to improve the performance of organizations. Keeping this industrial
requirement in view, the department has started M. Tech. program in Mechanical Engineering (with
specialization in Manufacturing Technology) from the academic session 2009‐2010. The applications of
Manufacturing Technology are used to manage manufacturing resources efficiently and effectively and
thus improve the productivity of an industrial organization. Further, it also helps in providing good quality
and sophisticated products to the consumer. The Curricula of Two Years M. Tech. Programs in
“Mechanical Engineering” is open to Mechanical Engineering graduates only.
2‐3 Years. M.Sc. ‐M. Tech courses in Science/ Mathematics at JUET, Guna
M.Sc. / M. Tech courses are offered at JUET Guna. Regular M. Sc degree will be awarded after two years.
Those students who opt to continue in specific specializations in the third year shall be awarded two degrees
i.e. M.Sc. and M.Tech. The following streams of Science and Mathematics courses are available. Candidates
with 3 years B. Sc in the relevant subject will be eligible for admission to M. Sc/M. Tech courses.
¾ M.Sc. (Physics)/ M. Tech (Solid State Technology)
This discipline aims at teaching students advance courses in Physics with a minor project leading to M.Sc.
