EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
HDFC Standard Life is one of India’s leading private life insurance companies, which offers
a range of individual and group insurance solutions. It is a joint venture between Housing
Development Finance Corporation Limited (HDFC), India’s leading housing finance
institution and Standard life insurance leading providers of financial service in the united
kingdom. HDFC are the main shareholders with 72.56%, while Standard Life owns 26% .
ULIPS (Unit link insurance policy) is a type of investment alternative provided by insurance
industry to provide a combined benefit of insurance and investment in stocks and debentures
The research methodology used is descriptive in nature and is used for finding facts. The
objective is to understand the concept of financial planning for investors, to compare
traditional investment instruments with investment in insurance and the study ulips as an
investment alternative.
Based on the study findings, suggestions and conclusions have been drawn.
