Applications are invited on plain paper alongwith the detailed Bio-data i.e. full name,
address, date of birth, academic qualifications, experience, present position and pay, for the
posts of Professor / Assistant Professor to be filled in, in the University for following
University Courses. Interested candidates should apply and attend the Interview, along with
necessary document The said appointments will be made on temporary basis as per
provisions under section 77 of the Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994. The Applications
should reach to the Registrar, Shivaji University, Kolhapur on or before 25/4/2011.

Date and Time of Interview- 30/4/2011 at 11.00 a.m. in the University office.

Pay Scale – For post at Sr. No. 1 to 3 - Rs-16400 in the scale of
16400-450-20900-500-22400
For post at Sr. No. 4 to 7 - Rs.12400 in the scale of 12000-420-18300
For post at Sr. No. 8 to 22 - Rs.8000/- in the scale of 8000-275-13500

Tenure- Above posts are on purely temporary basis for the academic year 2011-12 ( i. e. up
to the end of the second term of academic year 2010-11) or up to the filling of said posts
under Section 76 of Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994 whichever will be earlier.
Instructions-
1) The applicant who wish to apply for more than one post should
submit separate application for each post
2) The applicant should submit attested copies of their certificates along
with application form.
3) Employed candidate must submit the application through proper
channel.
4) Application received after the last date will not be considered.
5) Incomplete application and application without necessary documents
will not be entertained.
6) The University will not be responsible for postal delay, if any
7) The applicant should attend the interview at their own cost along
with their original certificates on the date and time fixed as mentioned above in the University
office ( Main building)
8) Relaxation of 5% will be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks at the Master's
degree level for SC, ST category, if candidates with 55% of the marks are not available.
9) Reservation of female/disabled persons will be decided by the
appointing authority.
10) Those candidates (from reserved category) who are from outside the
state of Maharashtra will be treated as open category candidates.
11) If candidate from particular reserved category is not available then
other candidate will be considered and appointed temporarily.

Qualifications-
For Post of Director–
BE/BTech and ME/MTech in relevant branch with First Class or equivalent either in BE/BTech or ME/MTech
and PhD or equivalent, in appropriate discipline.
Post Ph.D publications and guiding PhD students is highly desirable.

Experience -
Minimum of 10 years experience in teaching and/ or Research and/or Industry out of which at least 3 years shall
be at the level of Professor or Minimum of 13 years experience in teaching and / or Research and / or Industry
In case of research experience good academic record and books/research paper publications / IPR / patents
record shall be required as deemed fit by the expert members of the Selection committee.
If the experience in industry is considered, the same shall be at managerial level equivalent to Professor level
with active participation record in devising / designing, developing , planning, executing, analyzing, quality
control, innovating, training, technical books / research paper publications / IPR / patents, etc. is deemed fit by
the expert members of the Selection committee.
Flair for Management and leadership is essential.

For Posts of Professor–


BE/BTech and ME/MTech in relevant branch with First Class or equivalent either in BE/BTech or ME/MTech
and PhD or equivalent, in appropriate discipline.
Post Ph.D publications and guiding PhD students is highly desirable.

Experience -
Minimum of 10 years experience in teaching / research / industrial experience of which at least 5 years should
be at the level of Associate Professor
Or Minimum of 13 years experience in teaching and/ or Research and/or Industry.
In case of research experience, good academic record and books/research paper publications / IPR/ patents
record shall be required as deemed fit by the expert members of the Selection Committee.
If the experience in industry is considered, the same shall be at managerial level equivalent to Associate
Professor with active participation record in devising / designing, planning, executing analyzing, quality
control, innovating, training, technical books / research paper publications / IPR / patents etc as deemed fit by
the expert members of the Selection committee.

For Posts of Associate Professor–


BE/BTech and ME/MTech in relevant branch with First Class or equivalent either in BE/BTech or ME/MTech
and PhD or equivalent, in appropriate discipline.
Post PhD publications and guiding PhD student is highly desirable.
Experience -
Minimum of 5 years experience in teaching / research / industry of which 2 years post PhD experience is
desirable.

For Posts of Assistant Professor -


BE/BTech and ME/MTech in relevant branch with First Class or equivalent either in BE/BTech or ME/MTech

For Posts of Assistant Professor at Sr. No. 13, 14 &15 –


National Eligibility Test( NET) / State Eligibility Test (SET) shall be compulsory for appointment at the entry
level of Assistant Professor, subject to the exemptions to the degree of Ph.D. in respect of those persons
obtaining the award through a process of registration, course-work and external evaluation, as have been / or
may be laid down by UGC through its regulations from time to time
