Tripoli Street
Today, at 4am local time. before morning prayers. The freedom fighter launched an attack on the Ben Salah
and Ghbab buildings; as well as the Abu Shaallah vegetable market. They captured many of Gaddafi's forces,
including their weapons and ammunition. Some soldiers refused to surrender and continued fighting; forcing
the freedom fighters had to eliminate all of them. Of the dead mercenaries, three were identified as being Niger
and two from Mali.

Civilians targeted
Gaddafi forces broke into civilian homes and stole clothing, food and valuables such as jewellery. They also
assaulted the women in these homes. While most families have fled from the apartments in the area, some
were kidnapped by Gaddafi forces. They were held in the basement of the Ben Salah building to be used as
human shields. Freedom fighters have rescued these families.

Abu Mnyar Building

The fighting still continues between the freedom fighters and Gaddafi forces who are surrounded at the central
hospital, and an adjacent building, the Abu Mynar building. At the Abu Mnyar building, freedom fighters
managed to kill and capture a big number of them.

Gaddafi regime's claims of withdrawal of forces

Gaddafi forces show no indication of withdrawing from Misurata. Rather, they appear to be fighting until the last
solider and intend to destroy Misurata. Libyan forces will withdraw and we will leave this battle to the tribes to
deal with it. The tribes around Misurata, such as Zlitan and Beni Walid, are known to the people of Misurata
and are well regarded. Gaddafi has crackdown on these cities and placed many snipers at the top of their
buildings, to scare them.

Tanks hidden at the Abu Shaalah market

Today freedom fighters destroyed a number of Gaddafi forces’ tanks which were at the vegetable market. Eight
tanks had positioned themselves to shell Misurata. Freedom fighters are in complete control of the market.
Another two tanks were also being hidden away from NATO's jets. The tanks were camouflaged with tree
branches.

Surrending Gaddafi forces

The freedom fighters securing the area in Tripoli Street and the other buildings call out to Gaddafi forces to
surrender and that their safety will be guaranteed. Those who surrendered were taken to the local authorities
and the justice department which is part of tthe council of Misurata. The council is securing their safety and
will interrogate them. They are expected to be released whenr all of Libya has been liberated. Excluding the
mercenaries, the captured soldiers are young and have been brainwashed. They will be taken to court and
charged according to the new laws.

Clearing of landmines and removal of dead Gaddafi forces

A team of young "environmentalist" have joined the youth. They've closed off the entire centre of the city due
to the decomposing dead bodies and the resulting smell. They are a team of around twelve, and they have
their own special equipment. There is another group who have basic knowledge of how to deal with landmines.
There are a large number of landmines at the Insurance building, at the vegetable market and at Ghbag
building.
