Terminology
Terminology is a major change with the PostScript Environment (PSE) 11.0 upgrade. Terms
that have changed are shown in the following table.
AgfaSet 3.1
PSE 11.0 and AgfaSet 3.1 have been designed to be extremely flexible. They use several
PostScript Level 2 Resources extensively and allow you to virtually change the RIP operating
environment.
AgfaSet 3.1 is the administrative tool for PSE 11.0. AgfaSet 3.1 and its EDFs (Engine
Description Files) now control all of the features of the RIP. There are no longer any RIP
tools on the Macintosh platform. The tools have been replaced by EDFs.
To establish a connection with AgfaSet 3.1 and the RIP, Select Choose RIP/Printer at the
AgfaSet Main menu.
To Open an EDF in AgfaSet 3.1, either access it under the Engine pulldown menu through the
imagesetter, Mux, or RIP folder, or select the Engine icon from AgfaSet's Main menu and
maneuver to the appropriate EDF folder.
