modelling, analysis and design

SLS: decompression in segments and segmental joints under
charakteristic loads in longitudinal direction – adaquate
durability !!!!
c ≤ 0,45*fck  0,45*fck = -63,00 MPa (act. c = -25,3 MPa)
c ≤ 0,60*fck  0,60*fck = -84,00 MPa (act. c = -51,7 MPa)

in segments no tensile stresses under charakteristic loads -

fatigue !!!!

prestressing and/or reinforcement!!!!

traffic safety for 240 km/h (deformation) crucial!!!

modelling, analysis and design

ULS: longitudinal direction:
segments  - for tension+compression, segmental joints
 only compression (gaping joint)
gaping of segments limited to 2/3 of section height
shear transfer by friction in the compression zone of the
segmental joints (µk ≥ 0,35)
shear force requires stirrups in segments – bearing
capacity of fibers is neglected - verfication EN 1992 – 1 – 1
fatigue (50 years)  increased ratio of traffic/dead load!!!
• unbonded prestressing – no impact
• shear reinforcement – enhancement 1,5 – times

due to high fatigue transverse direction (trussed framed slab):

loads bearing verification compression-/tension flange
capacity of compression strut, diagonal tie  reinforcement due to
fatigue loads!
fibers neglected !!
verification of fatigue by palmgren miner rule:
• enhancement of transverse prestressing 1,1 – times
• enhancement of reinforcement in diagonal ties 1,2 – times
• time-step analysis of train passage for short spans < 16m
• detailed investigation of lateral instability of the
compression flange
