4.1 Introduction
A business process is a collection of related activities that produce
something of value. Because business processes are the reality of what
an organisation does, it is important that they are constantly managed.
Business process management refers to activities undertaken by the
business to optimise its processes. Good process management can reduce
product design time by 50 per cent and other benefits which are reported.
