1. What is the role of Knowledge Systems?

Ans:
Knowledge systems are most popular now days in IT field. They
are simply used to assists the users and make efficient decisions
to facilitate the organizations. The knowledge system contains
the information regarding different processes of the
organizations is gathered in such a manner that will be accurate,
efficient and timely accessed. Knowledge systems are
empowering the resources of the organizations to make the
performance more effective and efficient.

2. What is the difference between these terms: Data,

Information and Knowledge?
Ans:
Data is the collection of symbols, digits, alphabets, any thing that
have no meaning.
But to organize and structure the raw data in such way that it
gives some meanings is the information. The organized data has
context that gives it meaning.
And to use the information in such a manner that a specific
action can be performed is the knowledge. In simple words, a
better decision can be made from information is the knowledge.
Knowledge is the useful information we gain from experience.
The important thing is that the knowledge of someone may be
the information for others. For example the theory of the
scientist is the knowledge of them but for it may the information.
The difference between these three terms data, information and
knowledge is that these three are inter linked terms. The data is
at low level and the information is at high and the knowledge is
at highest.
For example, in Pakistan the height of the K2 is considered as
data, the location and characteristics of the K2 is the information
and the information about the best path to reach the peak of K2
is the knowledge.

3. The result of the analysis in OM-5 Critical why?

Ans:
In OM-5 the feasibility decisions of the project are studied. The
feasibility of the business, technical and project are very
important decisions. This is the very critical work sheet in the
Organization model because implementation of the proposed
project is based on the analysis of this step. In this step it is

decided here to implement the proposed project or to change the

proposal if it is not feasible.

4. What is Knowledge and why do we need knowledge

methodology?
Knowledge is the useful information we gain from experience
and performed specific action or make efficient and effective
decisions.
Before the implementation and designed of the proposed project
it is important to arrange and gather the knowledge using the
knowledge methods because software development models or
methods are only used for structural development of the
software. The knowledge methodology is important to deal with
the knowledge in such a way that this knowledge will be helpful
in development of the project.

5. What is CommonKADS and what does CommonKADS

mean?
Ans:
CommonKADS is the developed form of Knowledge Acquisition
and Documentation Structuring (KADS).knowledge base system
designing is never the task, because in this type of system we
have to manage knowledge and structure it, which is very
difficult with traditional kind of model like water fall. So for that
kind of system we used structured based knowledge
methodology and commonKADS is one of the based knowledge
engineering methodology.
CommonKADS model suit consists of 3 layer context, concept and artifact. Each
layer is analysis the organization from different aspects and capture knowledge.
The context layer consists of organization, agent and task model. Concept layer
consists of knowledge and communication models. And the artifact layer contains
the Design model.
