Oprah Winfrey is a very good person, her TV programs are often very interesting and

entertaining. She also holds holds a vast entertainment empire. Oprah Winfrey’s
entertainment empire is worth nearly $1 billion. Here are the biggest portions of her
empire:
TV: Her syndicated daytime TV program, “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” is seen by
millions daily, making her America’s most popular television host. The show has turned
books by little-known authors into national bestsellers and propelled guests like Dr. Phil
McGraw into fame and fortune. And her new show on ABC, “Oprah’s Big Give,” gets
high ratings on Sunday evenings.
Film: Since starring in Steven Spielberg’s 1985 film, “The Color Purple,” she has
become more involved in making movies through her Harpo Films and Harpo Studios,
including “The Great Debaters,” which was directed by Denzel Washington. She also
runs Harpo Productions and Oprah Winfrey Presents.
Publishing: Oprah has co-authored five best-selling books and she produces O: The
Oprah Magazine, which Fortune magazine called the most successful start-up in
publishing history. The first issue of her magazine sold 1.6 million copies, and circulation
has grown ever since. An author appearance on Oprah’s show can turn an unknown book
into a best-seller overnight. She also operates Oprah’s Book Club.
Internet: Oprah Online averages more than 70 million page views per month.
Nevertheless, Oprah dismisses the idea that there is “one way” to God, when she says,
“There couldn’t possibly be just one way.” "One of the mistakes that human beings make
is believing that there is only one way to live,” she said. Instead, “there are many paths to
what you call God.” "God is a feeling experience," Oprah said in a popular YouTube
video, "not a believing experience. If your religion is a believing experience... that's not
truly God," she says.
Oprah even fired her own cousin who she said talked too much about Jesus. Here's what
her cousin Jo Baldwin said. “When I received my PhD in 1985 from the University of
Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Oprah asked me where I was going to work,” said Jo Baldwin in
the summer of 2010. “I said I would be applying for a position at Ebony magazine as a
copy editor." Oprah said she did not like Linda Johnson Rice (owner of Ebony) and I
should come to work for her instead. So I did. "I was (supposed) to work for her for three
years, but she fired me without notice after two years… I heard from someone later that
she got rid of me because she got tired of me talking about Jesus all the time… Oprah
preferred the teachings of Shirley MacLaine’s books, such as Dancing in the Light and
Out on a Limb, which Oprah made me read but I didn’t think much of.” Jo Baldwin feels
that her famous cousin has lost her way, and is mired in godless New Age mumbo jumbo.
Larry Eskredge, associate director of the Institute for the Study of American Evangelicals
at Wheaton College in Illinois, said, “Oprah’s theology seems to be a version of
America’s secular theology of self-improvement, doing good to others, and the prosperity
gospel. She is also able to foster a tremendous sense of community around her TV show.
People who watch feel they are involved in a great quest to improve society and improve
themselves.”
Christianity Today writer LaTonya Taylor speaks about Oprah: “To her television
audience of more than 22 million mostly female viewers, she has become a postmodern
priestess—an icon of church-free spirituality. Oprah speaks less about salvation through
Christ than she does Christ- consciousness. Likewise, she describes heaven not as an
eternal destination but an inner realm of consciousness. And she dismisses the idea that
there is one way to God."
The facts remain that the word of God said that there's only one way or door to God,
through the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus saith unto him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man comes unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6) "I am the door: by me if any man
enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." (John 10:9) "He that
hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." (1 John 5:12) In
no uncertain terms do we find that the name of Jesus alone saves a person from sin. "Be it
known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this
man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you
builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other:
for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be
saved." (Acts 4:10-12) And he (Jesus) said unto them (the apostles), "Go ye into all the
world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believes and is baptized shall be
saved; but he that believes not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that
believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues." (Mark
16:15-17) "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God and the Father by him." (Colossians 3:17)
The Apostle Paul warned everyone saying that, "I marvel that ye are so soon removed
from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not
another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But
though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which
we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." (Galatians 1:6-8) The Apostle John
said, "For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is
come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an Antichrist. Look to yourselves, that we lose
not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. Whosoever
transgresses, and abides not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abides in the
doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and
bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For
he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds." (2 John 7-11) So no matter
who they are, let God be true and every person be a liar if they deny his word.
On June 20, 2005 Joel Osteen had a interview with talk show host Larry King. Mr.
Osteen is the pastor of the Lakewood Church in Houston, it claims to be the largest single
church in America. The church has about 30,000 people who attend it weekly. Joel has
also authored many Christian books, and he has sold millions of them worldwide.

KING: Is it hard to lead a Christian life?

OSTEEN: I don't think it's that hard. To me it's fun. We have joy and happiness. Our
family -- I don't feel like that at all. I'm not trying to follow a set of rules and stuff. I'm
just living my life.

KING: But you have rules, don't you?

OSTEEN: We do have rules. But the main rule to me is to honor God with your life. To
life a life of integrity. Not be selfish. You know, help others. But that's really the essence
of the Christian faith.

KING: That we live in deeds?

OSTEEN: I don't know. What do you mean by that?

KING: Because we've had ministers on who said, your record don't count. You either
believe in Christ or you don't. If you believe in Christ, you are, you are going to heaven.
And if you don't no matter what you've done in your life, you ain't.

OSTEEN: Yeah, I don't know. There's probably a balance between. I believe you have to
know Christ. But I think that if you know Christ, if you're a believer in God, you're going
to have some good works. I think it's a cop-out to say I'm a Christian but I don't ever do
anything ...

KING: What if you're Jewish or Muslim, you don't accept Christ at all?

OSTEEN: You know, I'm very careful about saying who would and wouldn't go to
heaven. I don't know ...

KING: If you believe you have to believe in Christ? They're wrong, aren't they?

OSTEEN: Well, I don't know if I believe they're wrong. I believe here's what the Bible
teaches and from the Christian faith this is what I believe. But I just think that only God
with judge a person's heart. I spent a lot of time in India with my father. I don't know all
about their religion. But I know they love God. And I don't know. I've seen their
sincerity. So I don't know. I know for me, and what the Bible teaches, I want to have a
relationship with Jesus.

KING: The Senate apologized last week for slavery. You think the Southern Baptists and
a lot of the churches in the South owe some apology, too?

OSTEEN: I've never thought about it. Because I just didn't -- wasn't raised in it.

KING: But you know its history.

OSTEEN: Oh, absolutely. I think that it would never hurt; anything we could do to make
amends, the better it can be. That's what I love about our church. It's made up of all
different races. That's what life should all be about. That's what God wants it to be.

KING: Doesn't it hurt you that people 50 years ago talking about God and Christ also
didn't -- Martin Luther King call 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning the most segregated hour in
America? Does it bother you to know that predecessors of yours ...

OSTEEN: Yeah, absolutely bothers me. It's not right. It's a shame, and I don't know how
they could do it with a pure heart to God but, you know what? It happened.

KING: I want to get to the seven steps. But when the people call you cotton candy
theology. Someone said you're very good but there's no spiritual nourishment. I don't
know what that means ...

OSTEEN: I think, I hear it meaning a lot of different things. One I think a lot of it is that
I'm not condemning people. And I don't know, but Larry I talk, I mean every week in our
church we're dealing with people that are fighting cancer, that have their lost loved ones.
That are going through a divorce. I mean, I talk about those issues, and to me I don't see
how it can get any more, you know, real than that. So I don't know what the criticism is.

KING: What is the prosperity gospel?

OSTEEN: I think the prosperity gospel in general is -- well I don't know. I hear it too. I
don't know. I think what sometimes you see is it's just all about money. That's not what I
believe. It's the attitude of your heart, and so you know, we believe -- but I do believe
this, that God wants us to be blessed. He wants us to be able to send our kids to college,
excel in our careers. But prosperity to me, Larry, is not just money, it's having health.
What good is money if you don't have health?

KING: Also many in the Christian belief are wary of too much material, aren't they?

OSTEEN: Yeah, I think some of them are. But to me, you know, I hope people get
blessed if they can handle it right. Because it takes money to do good. You know to do
things for people. To spread the good news. So I think it's all a matter of your heart.

KING: You think other preachers are envious of you?

OSTEEN: If they are, I don't feel it. I've got so many good friends. And the ones I know
are encouraging me. I don't hear anything but good things from them. I hope they're not.
Because we're all in it together.

KING: You want to do this the rest of your life?

OSTEEN: I do. I do. I know it's what I'm called to do. I feel like this is why I was born.
Even though I never dreamed I'd be doing it. But I know now I never dreamed I'd be able
to get to help people like this. I never dreamed it was in me. I didn't know I could get up
to speak in front of people and impact people's lives. I didn't know I could do that. I was
shy.

KING: We'll get to those seven steps in a minute. We'll be taking your calls, as well.
Don't go away.

KING: Phoenix, Arizona. Hello.

CALLER: Hello, Larry. You're the best, and thank you, Joe -- Joel -- for your positive
messages and your book. I'm wondering, though, why you side-stepped Larry's earlier
question about how we get to heaven? The bible clearly tells us that Jesus is the way, the
truth and the light and the only way to the father is through him. That's not really a
message of condemnation but of truth.

OSTEEN: Yes, I would agree with her. I believe that...

KING: So then a Jew is not going to heaven?

OSTEEN: No. Here's my thing, Larry, is I can't judge somebody's heart. You know?
Only god can look at somebody's heart, and so -- I don't know. To me, it's not my
business to say, you know, this one is or this one isn't. I just say, here's what the bible
teaches and I'm going to put my faith in Christ. And I just I think it's wrong when you go
around saying, you're saying you're not going, you're not going, you're not going, because
it's not exactly my way. I'm just...

KING: But you believe your way.

OSTEEN: I believe my way. I believe my way with all my heart.

KING: But for someone who doesn't share it is wrong, isn't he?

OSTEEN: Well, yes. Well, I don't know if I look at it like that. I would present my way,
but I'm just going to let god be the judge of that. I don't know. I don't know.

KING: So you make no judgment on anyone?

OSTEEN: No. But I...

KING: What about atheists?

OSTEEN: You know what, I'm going to let someone -- I'm going to let god be the judge
of who goes to heaven and hell. I just -- again, I present the truth, and I say it every week.
You know, I believe it's a relationship with Jesus. But you know what? I'm not going to
go around telling everybody else if they don't want to believe that that's going to be their
choice. God's got to look at your own heart. God's got to look at your heart, and only god
knows that.
KING: You believe there's a place called heaven?

OSTEEN: I believe there is. Yes. You know, you've had a lot of the near-death
experiences and things like that. Some of that is very, to me, not that you need that as
proof, but it shows you these little kids seeing the angels and things like that.

KING: We'll take a break, and when we come back, the better half, Victoria, will join us.
Don't go away.
The Word says that there is only one God. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10-11; John
4:24; James 2:19: Revelations 4:2-8) And only one way to God, through the Lord Jesus
Christ. (John 10:9, 14:6; Acts 4:10-12; 1 Corinthians 1:24; Colossians 3:17; Phillipians
2:9-11) Jesus Christ is the only name that now saves us."Be it known unto you all, and to
all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified,
whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you
whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the
head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name
under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:10-12) Jesus saith
unto him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by
me." (John 14:6) We are told to do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus. "And
whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to
God and the Father by him." (Colossians 3:17) Are you going to believe in the gospel of
Joel Osteen or the Gospel of God?

Billy Graham says that people can get to Heaven another way besides through hearing
and believing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He said that "good" and "sincere" people who
know nothing about Christ are on their way to Heaven. The following is an exact
transcript of a television interview of Billy Graham by Robert Schuller. It was
broadcasted in Southern California on Saturday, May 31, 1997.
Schuller: Tell me, what do you think is the future of Christianity?
Graham: Well, Christianity and being a true believer--you know, I think there's the Body
of Christ. This comes from all the Christian groups around the world, outside the
Christian groups. I think everybody that loves Christ, or knows Christ, whether they're
conscious of it or not, they're members of the Body of Christ. And I don't think that we're
going to see a great sweeping revival, that will turn the whole world to Christ at any time.
I think James answered that, the Apostle James in the first council in Jerusalem, when he
said that God's purpose for this age is to call out a people for His name. And that's what
God is doing today, He's calling people out of the world for His name, whether they
come from the Muslim world, or the Buddhist world, or the Christian world or the non-
believing world, they are members of the Body of Christ because they've been called by
God. They may not even know the name of Jesus but they know in their hearts that they
need something that they don't have, and they turn to the only light that they have, and I
think that they are saved, and that they're going to be with us in heaven.
Schuller: What, what I hear you saying that it's possible for Jesus Christ to come into
human hearts and soul and life, even if they've been born in darkness and have never had
exposure to the Bible. Is that a correct interpretation of what you're saying?
Graham: Yes, it is, because I believe that. I've met people in various parts of the world in
tribal situations, that they have never seen a Bible or heard about a Bible, and never heard
of Jesus, but they've believed in their hearts that there was a God, and they've tried to live
a life that was quite apart from the surrounding community in which they lived.
Schuller: [R. S. trips over his tongue for a moment, his face beaming, then says] I'm so
thrilled to hear you say this. There's a wideness in God's mercy.
Graham: There is. There definitely is.
Schuller: You knew ... Fulton Sheen. You knew these men. Your comments on both of
these men [Fulton Sheen and Norman V. Peale].
Graham: The primary way of communicating is to live the life, let people see that you're
living what you proclaim.... [comments on his friendship and conversations with Fulton
Sheen] I lost a very dear friend, and since that time, the whole relationship between me
and my work, and you and your work, and the Roman Catholic Church has changed.
They open their arms to welcome us and we have the support of the Catholic Church
almost everywhere we go. And I think that we must come to the place where we keep our
eyes on Jesus Christ, not on what denomination or what church or what group we belong
to.
The Word says that there is only one God. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10-11; John
4:24; James 2:19: Revelations 4:2-8) And only one way to God, through the Lord Jesus
Christ. (John 10:9, 14:6; Acts 4:10-12; 1 Corinthians 1:24; Colossians 3:17; Philippians
2:9-11) Billy Graham, Robert Schuller, and all their associates are lying. They claim that
the Hindu god, Krishna, the Muslim god, Allah, and all the other gods are equal to God.
Not only that, they claim that Jesus is not the only way or door to God. The Apostle Peter
said that there is salvation in no other name: "For there is none other name under heaven,
given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12) That's why the Apostles (to
include Paul) all baptized in Jesus' name. (Acts 2:38-22:16; Romans 6;1-5; Galatians
3:26-28; Colossians 2:10-3:17; Philippians 2:9-11; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 3:21). The scriptures
say that the Buddhist, the Hindu, the Muslim, the African witchdoctor, are not saved
because they have never called on His Holy Name. "For whosoever shall call upon the
name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13) "Jesus is Lord of all." (Acts 10:36)
These lost souls need Jesus, but Billy Graham lies to these millions of unsaved people
headed for hell. Billy tells them they don't need the Bible, and don't need to be born again
(of the water and the spirit) in Jesus Christ. Yet John 5:12 reveals: "He that hath the Son
hath life, and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life."
Jesus Himself has already rebuked this nonsense during the Thyatira Church Age (580-
1600). "Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that
woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to
commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent
of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that
commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I
will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which
searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your
works." (Revelations 2:20-23) Most theologians would agree that Jezebel here that Jesus
is talking about is the Roman Catholic Church system (they have the trinity, statues,
Mary worship, Popes, ect). Therefore her daughters are the Protestants who left her
behind, but they took many of her ideas about God (the trinity).
Billy Graham said the Pope was his personal pick for "the Man of the Century" on
December 20, 1999. Robert Schuller made a special trip to Rome to obtain a blessing
from the Pope himself for the building of his "Crystal Cathedral." The Pontiff has been
called a brother and fellow laborer in Christ by the likes of Bill Bright, Pat Robertson and
Chuck Colson (all of whom signed the "Evangelicals and Catholics Together" document,
it agrees that Evangelicals and Catholics are preaching the same gospel). The Pope
represents the "infallible" voice of the Roman Catholic Church.
Remember that the Roman Catholic Church claims that salvation is only possible through
herself. "There is no salvation outside the church (Roman Catholic Church)." (Pope John
Paul II, Radio Message for Francisan Vigil at St Peter's and Assisi, October 3, 1981)
"Salvation is to be found nowhere but in the church (Roman Catholic Church), the strong
and effective instrument of salvation is none other than the Roman Pontificate." (Pope
Leo XIII, Allocution for the 25th Anniversary of his election, February 20, 1903. (Papal
Teachings: The Church, Benedictine Monks of Solesmes, St Paul Editions, Boston, 1962,
par. 653) Again, the scriptures exposes this teaching of the Roman Catholic Church as
false. Not only that, it is one of the most dangerous doctrines there is. To say that
salvation lies only within the Roman Catholic Church is blasphemous against the only
one who can save us, which is Jesus Christ. "Be it known unto you all, and to all the
people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom
God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole." Are
you going to trust in tradition of religion or in the truth of God and His word? Belief in
His word is tantamount to acting upon it. If your serious about God you will repent, and
then call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in your baptism, which is for the
forgiveness of your sins. (See Mark 16:16; John 3:5; 6:29; Acts 2:38, 8:12-18; 10:36-48:
15:16-33; 18:8; 19:5; 22:16; Ephesians 2:8-10; James 2:15-26; 1 John 3:15-18)
