Intro to the World Map

In this ebook we introduce the World Map to you and then take you in
to the Continents and the Regions in them. Once you are familiar with
the Continents and the Regions, you can get in to learn How To Draw
the Continents and How to Remember Each and Every Country.
Altogether, we would look at 25 Regions and 193 countries which are
recognized by the UNO. This ebook is an introduction to the
“Memorize the World Map” ebook and we also provide an excerpt
showing you the exact method for memorizing the World Map. To get
the entire Package with each of these 25 Regions in detail, go here:

Basic World Map

The World Map has two main parts (and a small piece). Only two? Well,
if you look at a glance you would see two great masses of land (and
one smaller piece at the right bottom).
These two masses are
1. the Americas comprising
a. North America and
b. South America and
2. three continents joined together viz
a. Europe
b. Asia next to it and
c. Africa below
3. then the small piece, Australia to the right bottom
4. and finally Antarctica at the very bottom. It is actually the
South Pole (it has no country on it)

World Map with ANTARCTICA

and the Equator

We have shown these continents thematically on the map above.

The continents are shown as rectangles so that you get the positioning
right. Once you know how the Americas are stacked up and you can
also see that these three great Continents viz Europe, Asia and Africa
are actually joined together, you are on your way… let’s go further.

We have shown Antarctica at the very bottom. In the actual Globe, it

is the white cap at the very bottom of our Earth, it is the South Pole.
It is a very large land mass, and thus we must call it a Continent. But
the fact remains that there are no countries on it, only a few
Research Stations, where scientists stay off and on to conduct
experiments.

Also look at the horizontal line through the middle of the map. It is
the EQUATOR. And wherever the Equator passes, the regions are one
of the hottest on this planet. Note that the Equator for the most part
passes through Oceans and crosses through the continents of South
America and Africa.

World Map-more Accurately

Now we will draw a more accurate map so as to make you familiar with
the actual shapes of the continents: and here you are:

Now, please notice that both North and the South America look
somewhat like a Triangle.

Europe is sort of a rectangle above Africa

And Africa can be conceived as a combination of

a rectangle above a triangle

and Asia is slightly more complicated with three land masses jutting out
on the south and the eastern most coastline is slanted upwards.

We will deal with each of the continents one at a time and our purpose
would be to identify each and every country on these continents
exactly in place.

But before moving on, let us identify the Oceans, the water bodies
that surround these land masses

http://map-of-the-whole-world.weebly.com/become-global.html

THE OCEANS

ATLANTIC OCEAN
First take the Americas
On the right is the Atlantic Ocean and
To the left is PACIFIC OCEAN

But water bodies are always located between two land masses. So,
ATLANTIC Ocean lies between the Americas and the Europe-Africa
land mass i.e. the entire left coast or, to be precise, West Coast of
both Europe and Africa has Atlantic Ocean washing ashore and likewise
the entire right coast or the Eastern Coast of both North America and
South America has again the Atlantic Ocean next to it.

Look also at the ARCTIC OCEAN on top and

the SOUTHERN OCEAN at the bottom

http://map-of-the-whole-world.weebly.com/become-global.html

INDIAN OCEAN
Now look at Asia
It has a land mass jutting out in the South, located centrally and it is
a country called INDIA

And just south of the Indian peninsula lies the INDIAN OCEAN
[A Peninsula is any land mass jutting out into the sea],

The same ocean wafts the shores of Africa as well as Australia

The eastern (or right) shores of Africa and
The western (or left) shores of Australia

http://map-of-the-whole-world.weebly.com/become-global.html

PACIFIC OCEAN
PACIFIC OCEAN is the largest and to understand its vastness we have
to turn the globe around and keep it in front. You will see that the
entire circle that you can see is one big Ocean, Pacific Ocean with its
two boundaries, Asia (and Australia) on the left and the Americas on
the right

In fact people of China, Japan and some other Asian countries turn
the globe around and look at a World Map which has
the Pacific Ocean at its centre.

THE CONTINENTS- and their REGIONS

Now that you have become familiar with the World Map, the Position of the
Continents and the location of the Oceans between the Continental land
masses, we will go on to reckon the different Regions that we will be
examining in order to reach our target of the 193 countries of the world.

THE AMERICAS
There are FOUR REGIONS in the AMERICAS
CONTINENTAL Number of
REGIONS Countries
1 North America 3
2 South America 12
3 Central America 7
4 Caribbean Islands 13
TOTAL 35

North America has three countries, South America has 12 countries,

Central America has 7 countries and the Caribbean Islands have 13
countries

2 Europe 7 45

3 Africa 6 53

4 Asia 6 46

5 Australasia & 2 14
Oceania
Total 25 193

So, altogether we would be dealing with these 25 regions, total of 193

UN recognized countries.

In the “Memorize the World Map” you would be presented with these
Sections. Take your pick. There is no right way to proceed. It depends
on which continent you would be interested in right away. Just blast it.
You will find how easy it all is to be able to draw the World Map, each
continent, each country and how easy it is to actually remember where
the countries are, exactly.

Once you learn to Draw the 25 Regions of the Continents the Mnemonic
Method comes into play. That helps in placing the countries exactly in
their correct location. I’ll show you how that works in the section on
South America, a continent having only 12 countries and a French
Territory. For a complete picture you can go here:

An Excerpt from the Main ebook

“Memorize the World Map”
http://map-of-the-whole-world.weebly.com/become-global.html
SOUTH AMERICA
Draw the flat Equator first. Then draw a rough triangle with the vertical dotted line
as shown below (and remove it after drawing the left triangle)

As shown below, C
is the mid point of
A and B. And we
join EC first. Then
from D we draw
another line to cut
across EC and
touch AB making a
little triangle
MEMORIZE THE WORLD MAP http://memorize-maps.blogspot.com/ 2sidsinha@gmail.com
http://map-of-the-whole-world.weebly.com/become-global.html

The lines are to be

drawn in the
following sequence:
Line 1, Line 2 and
then Line 3

Now we will learn

to draw Chile and
two more
countries.

Draw the three

parallel lines as
shown and then
draw one vertical
line down and we
get Chile

We immediately
get three major
countries of South
America:
Brazil
Argentina and
Chile

See that Chile

actually looks like
a vertical chilly !!

Look at the actual map of South America below

MEMORIZE THE WORLD MAP http://memorize-maps.blogspot.com/ 2sidsinha@gmail.com
http://map-of-the-whole-world.weebly.com/become-global.html

The land mass down below is a portion of Antarctica trying to extend its ‘arm’ to
touch the southern-most tip of South America (Tierra del Fuego). This ‘arm’ is called
Antarctic peninsula
In order to draw the northernmost countries of this continent, you need to draw three
simple lines and voila you have five countries, nay, four countries and one region of
France. First join PQ and extend & draw two parallel lines to the right
MEMORIZE THE WORLD MAP http://memorize-maps.blogspot.com/ 2sidsinha@gmail.com
http://map-of-the-whole-world.weebly.com/become-global.html

This is how you

get the
northernmost four
countries and one
Overseas Territory
of France. French
Guiana became
famous for the
prison in the island
of Kourou where
criminals from
France would be
deported to.
The mnemonic we
would use here is
CALL [Colombia]
WHEN [Venezuela]
GUY’S [Guyana]
SURNAME’S
[Surinam]
FRENCH [French]

Let us look at the

actual map of
these northern
countries Do you
see that the
Equator passes
through only two
countire: Ecuador
and Colombia apart
from Brazil
ofcourse
MEMORIZE THE WORLD MAP http://memorize-maps.blogspot.com/ 2sidsinha@gmail.com
http://map-of-the-whole-world.weebly.com/become-global.html

Now for the last

set of five
countries in South
America, two of
which are land
locked

The mnemonic we
would use here is
AQUA [Ecuador]
PURE [Peru]
BOILED [Bolivia]
PURGES [Paraguay]
YOUR GUY
[Uruguay]

Again the actual map would look like this:

Notice that Bolivia and Paraguay are land-locked countries

Finally, let us see all the 12 countries of South America

Here they are

America 3. Guyana
4. Surinam
5. Ecuador
6. Peru
7. Bolivia
8. Paraguay
9. Uruguay
10. Brazil
11. Argentina

French Guiana is an Overseas Territory of France and is not

an independent country.
