• You received the handout describing the summer reading program for the 2011-
2012 school year for both the English department and the library’s summer
reading program.
• You understand the testing policy for these summer reading books.
• You will not attempt to change your class next year because you failed to
complete your summer reading assignments.
• It is your responsibility to know which class you enrolled in. In other words, “I
didn’t know I signed up for Pre-AP” is not an acceptable excuse.

This is an extensive list of all summer reading for all grade-level students. Annotation is not required; however, you might find it helpful
in order to successfully complete the assessments on the works. The assessments will vary. English teachers will give quote tests on
the first day of school; please know that you will be asked to not only identify the speaker of the quote, but the context of the quote, as
well. These will be challenging quote tests; these will not be quotes that you can pull from your favorite “cheat” website. The librarian
will distribute multiple-choice tests for the books you will read for our library summer reading program.
