What is an organization?An organization is a social agreement which persues collective


goal,controls its own performance and has a boundry separating it from its
environment.In sociology”Organization” is understood as planned,coordinated and
purposeful action of human beings to construct or compile a common tangible or
intangible product.This action is usually framed by formal membership and
form( institutional rules)Sociology distinguishes the term organization into planned
formal and unplanned informal ( i.e. spontaneously formed) organizations.

Organization is a group of people organized in group,which work together to achive


common goal.Organization is a collection people arranged into group,working together
to achieve some common objective.

The Organizational structure of a retail store will vary by the size and type of
business.Most tasks involved with operating a real business will be the
same.However,small or independent retail store may combine many sectors together
under one devision,while longer store create various for each particular function along
with many layer of management.

For example,the small specialty shop may have all of its employees under one
category called Store Operation.A large department store may have a complete staff
consisting of a manager,Assistant Manager and Sales Associates for its Sporting Good
Department,Home and Garden,Bed and Bath and each additional department.
BACKGROUND AEON COMPANY

ÆON CO. (M) BHD. (formerly known as Jaya Jusco Stores Bhd.) is a leading retailer in
Malaysia with a total revenue of RM1.94 billion (10 months) in the financial year under
review. The Company was incorporated on 15 September 1984. ÆON CO. (M) BHD.
was set up in response to the Malaysian Government’s invitation to ÆON Japan to help
modernizes the retailing industry in Malaysia. The JUSCO name today is well
established among Malaysians as well as foreigners, especially due to its association
with the international ÆON group of companies.

ÆON has established itself as a leading chain of general merchandise stores. ÆON’s
constant interior redecoration of stores, to project an image designed to satisfy the ever
changing needs and desires of consumers, is clear evidence of this. The Company’s
performance has been further enhanced by the management’s acute understanding of
target market needs and the provision of a correct product-mix.

ÆON’s stores are mostly situated in suburban residential areas, catering to the vast
middle income group.

The ÆON group of companies consists of ÆON Co. Ltd., and more than 150
consolidated subsidiaries and affiliated companies. In addition to its core general
merchandise stores (GMS) plus its supermarket and convenience store operations,
ÆON is also active in specialty store operations, shopping center development,
operations and services.

ÆON group of companies is an integrated Japanese retailer and is active not only in
Japan but also in Southeast Asia, China and North America.At all times, in every market,
ÆON's activities are guided by the unchanging 'Customer First' philosophy. Its aim is to
surpass expectations by combining excellent products with unique personal services that
enhance the shopping experience to make the customers smile every time they shop.
HISTORY

In 1983 Dr. Mahathir visited Tokyo and met the then JUSCO Co., Ltd. President, Mr.
Takuya Okada to discuss the proposition of bringing the JUSCO name to Malaysia. The
talks ended on a positive note and Dr. Mahathir invited JUSCO to set up store in
Malaysia. All this was part of Dr. Mahathir's Look East policy for Malaysia.

Following this, a joint venture company was established in September1984. There were
three parties involved: JUSCO Co., Ltd., Japan, Peremba, a leading government owned
property company and Cold Storage, a premier supermarket chain store.

JAYA JUSCO's aim was to grow with the people of Malaysia through the transfer of
expertise from Japan to Malaysia and human resource development, two factors which
would contribute greatly to the progress of Malaysia.

September 1984
JAYA JUSCO STORES SDN BHD established, in response to a request from
Prime Minister Y.A.B. Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad, to help
modernise the retailing industry in Malaysia.

June 1985
The first pilot store, JAYA JUSCO Dayabumi, opened.

December 1985
The second pilot store, JAYA JUSCO Taman Tun Dr. Ismail opened

June 1989
JAYA JUSCO Dayabumi closed.

October 1989
The first Superstore, JAYA JUSCO Taman Maluri, opened

October 1991
JUSCO Melaka was opened and fully operated by Malaysian staff. The ÆON
Group's "Hometown Forest" programmed was launched simultaneously at the
Inauguration of JUSCO Melaka.

April 1992
JUSCO Wangsa Maju (Alpha Angle Shopping Centre), our first Shopping
Centre, opened

June 1995
JAYA JUSCO Taman Tun Dr. Ismail closed.
August 1995
JUSCO Bandar Utama (1 Utama Shopping Centre) opened.
October 1995
JUSCO Bandar Baru Klang (Bukit Raja Shopping Centre) opened

August 1997
JUSCO Ipoh (Kinta City Shopping Centre) opened.

December 1998
JUSCO Melaka Shopping Centre reopened

December 1999
JUSCO Mid Valley opened.

December 2000
JUSCO Taman Maluri Shopping Centre re-opened.
JUSCO Bandar Puchong opened.

October 2001
Launch of WAOH Charity Fund / JUSCO Fest / JUSCO’s 17th Anniversary.

22 Malaysian students and 2 former participants from the 1990 batch were
invited to Japan as Ambassadors through the ÆON 1% Club Programme.
April 2002
Establishment of JUSCO-OUM Retail Centre in Alpha Angle Shopping Centre,
at Wangsa Maju.

July 2002
JUSCO Taman Universiti opened, Japan Management Training Programme
reactivated.

January 2004
JUSCO Metro Prima Tree Planting Ceremony was held. 2,000 seedlings were
planted.
JUSCO Metro Prima Shopping Centre opened.

September 2004
JAYA JUSCO STORES BHD. officially changed name to AEON CO. (M) BHD.
JUSCO celebrated 20th Anniversary in Malaysia with Gala Dinner.
30,000 seedlings planted in the Malaysia-Japan Friendship Forest, AEON
Woodland, Paya Indah Wetlands.

October 2004
Completed Bonus Issue (1:1) for 87,750,000 new Ordinary Shares.

March 2005
AEON CO. (M) BHD. received a certificate of appreciation from the Prime
Minister for its tree planting activities.

September 2005
JUSCO Seremban 2 Tree Planting ceremony was held. 3,300 seedlings were
planted. JUSCO Seremban 2 opened.
October
JUSCO J-One Supermarket opened at Damansara Damai.
December
AEON Tebrau City Tree Planting ceremony was held. 6,000 seedlings were
planted.

January 2006
AEON Tebrau City Shopping Centre opened

July 2006
AEON Taman Equine Shopping Centre opened.
PASAR RAYA D'HATI (formerly known as J-One) Supermarket in Pearl Point
opened.

November 2006
AEON Cheras Selatan Tree Planting ceremony was held. 4,000 seedlings were planted.
WAOH Gala Dinner held.

December 2006
JUSCO Queensbay store opened.
AEON Cheras Selatan Shopping Centre opened.

2007
January
PASAR RAYA D'HATI name change ceremony held at Pearl Point Shopping Mall.

AEON ‘s Corporate Commitment

On 21st August 2001,Jusco Co Ltd( Japan United Stored Company ) changed its name
to AEON Co Ltd and announced its aim to became one of the top 10 global retailed in
the next decade.AEON ‘s vision for the future in summed up in the phrase’s glocal
retailer Aeon had coined the word “Glocal” from “Global”and “Local”.Global is AEON ‘S
term for ‘Global management supporting the best local operations to meet consumer
needs in the local market.

Ketika ini semua organisasi menghadapi cabari yang besar.malah wujudnya compleksiti
dan ketidakpastian dalam mencapai misi mereka.Organisasi juga harus berwaspada
serta bersedia dalam menerokai beberapa cabaran yang perlu diatasi untuk memastikan
organisasi tersebut berjaya didalam perniagaan.Senaraikan semua cabaran serta
strategi dalam organisasi atau industri yang anda ceburi.

Dalam keadaan ekonomi yg kurang stabil ini.kebanyakan syarikat menghadapi banyak


cabaran untuk menstabilkan perniagaan mereka masing-masing.baik dari segi
ekonomi.politik.teknologi.sosial dan sebagainye.Bagi memastikan organisasi kami
berjaya dalam perniagaan.pihak pengurusan AEON berperanan penting dalam

bantuan subsidi membantu mengurangkan kos pengeluaran dan meningkatkan daya
saing perniagaan.Dengan itu maka satu undang-undang atau akta
ditubuhkan.Contohnye Akta Barangan Kawalan .Akta Kontrak dan
sebagainya.Sekiranya politik Negara kita tidak stabil.maka ramai pelabur-pelabur tidak
berminat untuk melabur di Malaysia.Ini menyekat kemasukan pelabur-pelabur .Dengan
itu proses pertukaran wang asing terbantut .Negara pula akan mengalami
ketidakstabilan dari semua segi.Jikalau Negara tak stabil.perkembangan ekonomi juga
akan terjejas.Ini meningkatkan kadar kemiskinan .Oleh itu Kestabilan politik menjamin
suasana yang baik untuk perniagaan terus berkembang maju.

Dasar pandang ke timur yang diwarwarkan oleh Perdana Menteri kita. Yg ke 4 Dato
Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad.membolehkan peniaga menjalankan perniagaan diperingkat
yang lebih jauh…Contohnya.AEON.sentiasa bertukar-tukar pendapat dengan AEON
Jepun dan China dalam memasarkan produk masing-masing.Melalui perniagaan global
membolehkan syarikat sentiasa mementingkan kualiti dan menjaga imej syarikat serta
Negara.Melalui perniagaan ini juga pihak peniaga terdedah kepada selok belok
perniagaan dari luardan aspek-aspek yang positif yang boleh digunakan oleh peniaga
dalam syarikat supaya system pengurusan syarikat menjadi lebih cekap dan berpotensi
pada masa depan.

Rentetan daripada kerjasama tersebut.maka terciptalah banyak peluang pekerjaan di


Malaysia.Orang ramai berpusu-pusu untuk mencari pekerjaan yang tersedia .Dari segi

jawatan tinggi sehingga ke jawatan peringkat rendah.Kebiasaannya.kami di Aeon
sentiasa mempelawa mereka-mereka yang berminat.siswazah dan bumiputera yang
menganggur dan mempunyai produktiviti yang tinggi dalam mengisi jawatan dan
seterusnye bersama-sama menyumbang tenaga bagi meningkatkan prestasi syarikat.

Sehubungan dengan itu.Aeon sentiasa meneroka idea-idea baru seperti mengadakan


Program Membina Kerjaya .Dengan adanya program ini.orang ramai didedahkan
dengan suasana pekerjaan dalam bidang peruncitan .Apabila peluang kerja
disediakan.kita dapat membantu Negara mengurangkan kadar pengangguran di
Malaysia.Seterusnya dapat meningkatkan taraf hidup terutama bagi penduduk

Dalam pada itu.dengan peluang pekerjaan yang ada .negara juga dapat menurunkan
kadar peratusan remaja yang terlibat dengan gejala yang tidak sihat.Dengan mengikuti
peluang kerja ini.para remaja dapat membantu meningkatkan taraf ekonomi keluarga.

Selain daripada itu.misalnya bagi penduduk luar bandar khasnya.mereka disarankan


oleh Perdana Menteri supaya golongan ini melibatkan diri dalam industri kecil dan
sederhana(IKS).Justeru itu dapat menyediakan peluang pekerjaan kepada penduduk
luar bandar dan merubah kehidupan ekonomi keluarga dan Negara kerana segala
barangan IKS ini akan dipasarkan ke bahagian pemasaran seperti pusat membeli belah
AEON….
