Certification
These c ourses and the series are an exc ellent aid to prepare for the examination
to become an AACE-Certified Cost Consultant or Certified Cost Engineer, a
designation rec ognized throughout the world. The Certific ation recognizes
“spec ialists who meet a demanding set of earned value management criteria by a
rigorous examination, experienc e, education and ethic al qualific ations.”
The CCC/CCE requirements, which inc lude the Certific ation Exam apart from these c ourses, reflec t the sophistic ation of
individuals in today's earned value industry and it fairly measures their knowledge, experience and adherenc e to best
management prac tic es.
NOTE: Completing this series of c ourses or the individual exams in each c ourse, does not result in Certific ation. The series is
to prepare an individual for the rigorous CCC/CCE Exam, whic h requires the individual to apply direc tly with AACE, c omplete
the examination applic ation process, and take the AACE exam.
The Certific ate of Completion does not fulfill the requirements to bec ome an AACE CCC/CCE.
As the online version of the c lassroom-based Certific ation Prep Course which c an involve 2-4 days of instruc tion away from
work and home, these c ourses provide c onvenience of acc ess, save travel time and c ost and dec rease time away from the
job (produc tivity).
Program Description
The online c ourses are offered in English and c onsist of 7 total c ourses. The c ourse c an be
taken as stand-alone c ourses, or as an entire series. If you are interested in becoming
CCC/CCE Certified it is highly rec ommended that you enroll and complete the entire
series prior to taking the c ertific ation examination.
NOTE: These c ourses do not result in Certification as an AACE CCC/CCE. For more
information regarding Certification please visit our Certification welcome page.
Understand what makes up c ost—i.e. the basic resources (material, labor, etc .) that are needed to perform an ac tivity
or c reate an asset.
Understand the distinc tion between cost elements that are direc tly applied to an asset and those that are indirec tly
applied.
Relate the cost elements to the life cyc le of the asset: ac quisition, use, and disposal.
Use the understanding of c ost elements to further understand how c ost is measured, applied, and rec orded to arrive
at the total ac tivity and/or asset c ost.
Apply the knowledge gained to solve problems related to c ost element sourc e and definition.

Cost Estimating
Projec t suc cess c annot be supported without accurate knowledge of the cost ceilings to which the projec t must be
c ontrolled, and those c eilings are imposed by budgets derived from cost estimates. Upon completion of this c ourse,
professionals will better understand c ost estimating and will be able to, without reference:
Sc heduling is the proc ess that converts a project work plan into a road map, whic h if followed, will assure timely projec t
c ompletion. Scheduling is one of the tools used for monitoring and c ontrolling projec ts to ensure that the objec tives of cost,
quality and time are met. Sc hedules provide a baseline against whic h progress is monitored, measured, reported and
c ontrolled. Sc hedules are used to assess time impact of changes to work sc ope. Sc heduling provides a way of c ontributing
input during projec t exec ution c onc erning means, methods, techniques, sequenc es, or other c onditions affec ting the plan's
outc ome. Upon c ompletion of this section, professionals will better understand and be able to:
Project Management
In today’s diffic ult, global business environment, it is vital that project management identify and c ontrol risks, maximize
c ost savings, minimize schedule delays, and improve ec onomic return. This only can be achieved with effec tive and
meaningful project planning and organization. Upon c ompletion of this c ourse you will be able to:
Economic Analysis
Engineering economic analysis is a technique that assists in the solution of substantial engineering problems where ec onomic
aspec ts dominate over a c onsiderable period of time. In this c ourse the participant will review this tec hnique of engineering
ec onomic analysis and upon c ompletion of this c ourse will be able to, without referenc e:
Calc ulate simple and c ompound interest rates and solve interest problems using basic single payments, uniform series,
and gradient formulas.
Calc ulate present value, future value, and equivalent uniform annual value of a cash flow series.
Determine the disc ounted rate of return of a cash flow series.
Evaluate and selec t the best alternative using present value, future value, equivalent uniform annual value, and
disc ounted rate of return.
Compare alternatives using the benefit-cost ratio.
Registration
Tuition: You may register for individual courses or for the series. You will have ac c ess
to each c ourse, for which you are enrolled for two weeks. During this period each c ourse is
