prayer and then breakfast. If there has ever been a time
where God’s people need to pray for their Nation, it is
NOW! Join your staff and other church leaders in the
Family Life Center for a time of bended knee and then
some breakfast. The event will cost you nothing but a
little of your time. So come out and PRAY for the
Nation, for our leaders, for our church and for Jesus’
return.

Adult Sunday School
Teachers’ Meeting
Sunday, May 15th at 4:30, there will
be an adult Sunday school teacher
meeting in the overflow.
We will discuss where we are headed
for the fall and the plan for the summer
as well. We are on track to finish Joshua
the last Sunday in May and to begin our
next phase the following Sunday.
Please make every effort to be there for
this important meeting. There will be
information as well as resources given
out at this meeting. We will have a time
of feedback as well.

It was awhile back, but I remember
sitting at a table for a dinner event in the
FLC and hearing a woman from another
church talk about their prayer team. She
Outreach & Visitation
Intro Meeting
Sunday, May 22nd at 4:30, in the
Sanctuary, there will be an Outreach/
Visitation Intro Meeting. Several of
you received personal emails to attend
this meeting. However, this meeting is
open to all who would like to get a
preview of where we are headed with
Outreach and Visitation in the fall.
We are excited about the direction that
God is leading us with this plan which
is relational and involves the entire
church where you live. In the past,
there have been many “Visitation/
Outreach programs” that have flared
up and then flamed out. They had a
short life because they were “program”
strategies and not relational strategies to
engage people.
We have mapped out a ten-mile radius
from the church and divided that up into
14 “districts” that will utilize members
where you live to make relational
contacts with people who visit the
church from your area. This will help us
to know our neighborhoods and begin to
take ownership of the place that God
has assigned us as a church and as
individuals.

reached 200 folks from Cornerstone! I'm

my daughter had an emergency
appendicitis -- knowing that my
Cornerstone Family was praying gave
me great comfort AND God answered
our prayers for her surgery was
successful and she fully recovered! I'm
sure many could give similar testimony.
I praise God for His faithfulness and to
all who have been faithful to pray.
Attending this meeting does not mean
that you have committed to anything.
This is an information and feedback
meeting to begin the groundwork and
essential foundation to be in place so
that we can “hit the ground running” in
September.
At the meeting:
 Jay Love and I will explain and
illustrate visually where we are
headed.
 You will see how natural and
relational the approach is.
 We will explain how we will
involve the entire church where
they live.
 You will see that there is a way to
do this with minimal and flexible
time commitment that will produce
maximum relational results.
 We will explain how the districts
are divided, how they will function,
and what the job of district
coordinators will be.
We are headed into an exciting season
of our church. Please be praying as we
all seek the Lord and are obedient to
His leadership. He has great things in
store for us and through us as a faith
family.

Currently we use a G-Mail account to
send out requests. With the increase in
our numbers, we will no longer be using
G-Mail but will move the list over to the
Cornerstone Website directly.
Consequently, you will begin to notice a
different return address...it is:

Additionally, daily requests of need will
be sent out but there will also be a
weekly summary of the requests. Praise
God for Grant Swaim and James
Rountree who have spent much time
considering and perfecting all computer
options for the e-mail Prayer Team's
effective distribution of requests. Now,
we can pray when a timely request comes
in and also have a weekly summary of
prayer requests to reference.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT, CHILDREN’S WORKER: Jill Reuille!

I started teaching GA's in August
of 2002 when the program was
brought to Cornerstone. I have been
blessed to be a part of the GA ministry
long enough to see several of the girls
mature through high school and into
college.
The first few years I taught 4th and 5th
graders with Olivia Steed and Melissa
Brewster. I love seeing the girls develop a
prayer life, deepen their love for the Lord,
and see them come to know Him as their
personal Lord and Savior. I love seeing it "
click " with them. In teaching of 4th and
5th graders, one area of focus was purity.
We focused on purity in word, deed, and
dress.
The last few years I have taught 2nd and
3rd grade GA's with Kristi Jent and this
year we added Melissa Brewster. In these
grades, one area of focus we called "
JOY", Jesus, Others, Yourself. We
encouraged the girls to think of Jesus first,
then others, and to think of yourself last.
This concept was great to put the focus on
giving and sharing before you take things
for yourself.
As a teacher, I have the joy of sharing with
young girls the things God has shown me
as I pursue to the be the woman of God
that I am called to be. It reminds me to be
a missionary in all I do and say.

Pancake Breakfast at Applebee’s. There are 2 dates to
choose from - Saturdays May 21 and June 4. Tickets are $7
as piece. Breakfast includes: pancakes, sausage, coffee, and
juice. Several students are selling tickets. If you cannot
locate a student selling tickets, see Pastor Jim. Each student
makes $5 to help with camp expenses for each ticket sold.

Graduate Sunday & Graduation Celebration

Sunday June 5 Thursday May 26
All three Morning Services 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
At all 3 services on Sunday June 5 we will honor all of our graduates. If
you are graduating from college or a parent of a student graduating from
college in 2011, we would like to be informed so that we can honor the
graduate. Please contact Pastor Jim with information concerning your college graduate. On Thursday night May 26 we will
have our annual High School Graduation Celebration. In order to make this a successful evening, we need you to complete
the Graduate Information Packet that was sent to your homes a few weeks ago and return it to Pastor Jim no later than
May 8th. If you did not receive the packet, please contact Pastor Jim ASAP! Tickets for the Graduation Banquet will be
sold in the Commons beginning Sunday May 15th.

Just How BIG is GOD? We could never do an event that would demonstrate the MASSIVENESS of
God, but on May 20th we will do everything at Cornerstone BIG, BIG, BIG! Come and enjoy 2 awe-
some bands, food, fun inflatables, Chalk Art contest, Knock-Out contests, Free Throw shooting con-
tests, Obstacle Course relays, Climbing wall races and more. The cost is $4 prior to May20th and $5 at
the gate. The entry fee gives you unlimited use of all the inflatables and all the food you desire. Extra
money will be needed to enter contests for prizes. All proceeds will go towards the cost of Pastor Rob
Cassel’s adoption of an Ethiopian baby. Tickets will be available Sunday, May 15th.

Cornerstone Women’s Ministry
Mentoring Ministry
We are excited to announce the launch
of the CSBC Women's Mentoring
Ministry. Mentoring is "a trusted
partnership through which one person
or several persons impart knowledge
and share wisdom to foster the spiritual
growth of mentee(s) with the focus of
individual growth in an intimate
relationship with Christ, resulting in a
continuous abundant living."
CSBC Women's Mentoring Ministry is
an intentional small group/discipleship
ministry, with a mentor-mentee and
peer-to-peer relationship model just like
Jesus' relationship with his 12 disciples.
The ministry Informational Dinner
will be held at 6:30 PM, Thursday,
May 12, 2011 in the church FLC. All
women of all ages and in all walks of
life are invited. Please come out and
bring a friend. (The event is specifically
required for those intending to
participate in the First Season of
mentoring - groups will be held August
2011-May 2012.)

Upcoming Summer Study
“Faithful, Abundant, True” from the
recent Deeper Still Conference by Beth
Moore, Kay Arthur and Priscilla Shirer.
Kay Arthur teaches from basically, the
entire book of Hebrews! Hebrews is
both an example of God's faithfulness
and a challenge to believers to be
faithful in difficult times.
Priscilla Shirer teaches from Ephesians
3:20-21 on God's abundance. A
fundamental basis for every believer is
the absolute reality that God can do
whatever He chooses to do. God's
ability empowers our faithfulness.
Beth Moore teaches on the topic of
discernment. In these difficult days it is
absolutely essential that we learn to
trust the Holy Spirit to enable us to
determine what is true and what is false.

The Library appreciates the donation of pre-owned media. Please follow the guidelines below when donating media.
The library is no longer accepting VHS tapes, yearly devotionals or Bible Study workbooks.
Materials should meet the following requirements:
Must reflect Christian standards and be accurate in facts, scriptural interpretation and doctrine
New or like new condition
Not worn, yellowed, or brittle
Not dirty, stained, or with markings
Must not be outdated or of an obscure format

All media donated are subject to approval by the church library ministry team. No provisional gifts will be accepted.
Items the church library is unable to use will be donated to other ministries. A copy of the complete library selection
policy can be found in the library or on the library page of the Cornerstone website.
