Ensuring accelerated remote office user experience
• Copper and fiber Gigabit platforms
The Accelerator 6900 Series is ideal for large distributed enterprises. In addition
with optical hardware bypass
to industry leading application acceleration technologies, these WAFS-Ready
Accelerators will push your remotely accessed web applications, and other
HTTP and FTP using applications, up to LAN quality performance and user
experience. When your server consolidation project starts to remove file serv-
ers from the remote office, the Expand WAFS solution will ensure that remote
users still have LAN-like access to their critical files, while at the same time
providing a reliable system to keep them working should WAN connectivity be
lost. The WAFS-Ready Accelerator 6900 Series is comprised of the Accelerator
6910, which has 1 GB of flash memory and a 500 GB hard drive, and the
Accelerator 6940, which has 4 GB of flash memory and a 500 GB hard drive.
Deployment in high-speed data centers
The Accelerator 6900 Series supports high-speed data links that connect criti-
cal sites, and can be deployed to support hundreds of remote sites. It scales
from 2 Mbps to 20 Mbps, supports Gigabit Ethernet and provides rack-and-
stack options. It supports mesh networks and can be deployed either On-Path
between the LAN segment and router or On-LAN by connecting non-obtru-
sively to the switch or router. It includes fail-to-wire functionality, offers optical
hardware bypass and supports standard failover protocols.
