A signature campaign to Stop the Persecution of Falun Dafa in China
We in India are fortunate that we have the Freedom to follow any religion or spiritual belief. It is sad that
it is not the same in a neighboring country like China.

Falun Dafa, a peaceful meditation practice for the mind and body, has spread its wings to at least 114
countries including India. Crores of dedicated practitioners have experienced improvements in health
and moral character. In China however, people who practice the exercises have been ostracized,
tortured beyond human imagination and killed. What is happening is similar to what Hitler did to the Jews
– a blot on humanity! If the world cannot forget these horrors, why should we be witness to yet another
mass killings and torture of innocent people?

Falun Dafa is non-political and non-religious. What one cannot fathom is how a spiritual practice that
rapidly gained popularity from May 1992 to July 1999, that saved enormous medical bills to the
government, that made the moral values of people stronger and made them healthier and better human
beings could become a target of a brutal persecutory campaign overnight. Out of his personal jealousy
and ambition, ex-president Jiang Zemin went against the will of the Chinese people and forced the
nation to persecute Falun Gong. Fabrications and slanders about Falun Dafa are still being spread to
mislead the entire nation.

Peaceful resistance is the hallmark of Falun Dafa practitioners. Their non-violent response has often
been compared to that of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King. That’s why Falun Dafa faithful
have borne the brunt of China’s formidable security apparatus for 11 long years and mustered what is
arguably the most sustained challenge to authority in 60 odd years of communist rule.

I am deeply pained and anguished that good, kind-hearted people in China are persecuted for practicing
Falun Dafa.

Human rights are universal and indivisible. It is thus unacceptable that the Chinese regime continues to
persecute Falun Dafa practitioners, thereby violating international human rights covenants which have
also been signed by China.

Perhaps addressing the human rights violations that are happening in China will enable us to create a
concrete procedure to save more lives on a bigger scale. We all need to be actively involved in
protesting against inhumane torture and illegal organ harvesting, wherever they may occur.

Dr. Martin Luther King has rightly pointed out “Injustice anywhere, is a threat to justice everywhere”

I therefore, make the following appeals:

1. The Chinese regime must immediately end the persecution and free all Falun Dafa practitioners.
2. My own national government, parliament, and Human Rights organizations should call on the
authorities in Beijing to stop the persecution of Falun Dafa.
3. Falun Dafa Association of India can submit this petition or a copy of it to various governments,
parliaments, the United Nations and other international Human Rights organizations to urge them
to take immediate action to help the Falun Dafa practitioners in China to regain their human rights
and dignity.
