REJECTED TAKE-OFF (RTO)

Training objective
a. To recognise circumstances requiring an RTO;
b. To take correct actions in the event of an RTO.
c. Clear and Loud commands
d. To execute the manoeuvre in a calm professional manner .

Completion standards
a. Appropriate decision before V1.
b. Correct actions to ensure a safe stop on runway centreline.
c. Correct decision for evacuation or not
d. CRM
e. Ability to communicate and evaluate all possible information

POWERPLANT

ENGINE FAILURE OR FIRE AFTER V

a. To recognise engine failure and/or fire warning.


b. To take correct actions to maintain a safe trajectory;
c. To perform correct procedure for engine failure or fire after V .

a. Correct decision to continue the take-off.


b. Minimum deviation from runway centreline.
c. Correct pitch attitude at rotation with wings level and β target centred.
d. Accurate following of flight director and correct FCU selections.
e. Maintenance of speed, V + 5 kts/- 0 kts during second segment.

f. Adherence to engine-out vertical profile maintaining acceleration altitude


+ 200 ft/- 0 ft.
g. Following of EOSID, emergency turn procedure, ATC instructions or
required heading +/- 10 degrees.

ABNORMAL ENGINE STARTS


Training objective

a To carry out the correct ECAM or QRH actions in the event of an


abnormal start (auto or manual);
b To know engine-start limitations and restrictions.

Completion standards

a .Correct ECAM or QRH procedure according to fault condition.


b .Knowledge of starter limitations.

TAILPIPE FIRFE

Training objective
a To recognise and deal correctly with an engine tailpipe fire;
b To be aware of possible engine damage due to external fire agents;
c To correctly respect task-sharing and establish effective communication.
