Alhamdu lillahi rabbi al AAalameen

Alhamdulillah is an Arabic phrase which means “praise to Allaah(swt)” or “All praise is due to
Allaah(Swt)”.The phrase is the combination of three basis parts: Al-The or All is indefinite
article in Arabic. Hamd-u means the “feeling of gratitude” and Li ‘llah is the combination of
preposition and noun which makes the kalima (word) Allah. Ii is the preposition means for
,belonging to, and word Allah is derived from the Ilah is used for God .

The phrase ,Alhamdulillah carries the depth meaning that anything in existence is able to
achieve praise ,thanks, glorification, or gratitude ,is only able to achieve it due to Allah(Swt)’s
infinite mercy and grace. Alhamdulillah in theoretical sense is to be said with a profound sense
of love, adoration, glory and mercy of Allah(Swt). And in practice ,Alhamdulillah means
thankfulness or thanks.

Alhamdulillah we are Muslim.

What I see and found that Kalmai Shukar (Word of thankfulness) is whatever situation
comes no matter state of happiness or state of sorrows, servant of Allaah (Swt) must say
Alhamdulillah. This is not an oral gesture but it encompasses mind, tongue and body. When a
situation comes first situation facer must realize ,that whatever happened, has come from
Supreme Power who is my Rubb(God), because nothing on the earth is happening without the
permission of Allah(Swt).Allah depicts that,“... no calamity strikes except by Allah’ s
permission...”(Qur’an 64:11) .
Oaneela Noor ,12/4/2011,2

Allaah(Swt)tests those who claims ,we are Muslims.

Furthermore, our prophet (saw)has elaborated that using repeatedly phrase “la hawla
wala quwwata illah billah” which means that there is no movement nor power except Allah’s
will”
In Islam all calamities are recognized as tests for a person who is suffering because Allah (swt)
says: “Surely We will test you with fear, hunger, loss of wealth life and the fruits of your work,
so give glad tidings to those who are patient”(Qur’an 2:155).

Secondly, after realizing power of Allaah (Swt), he must make dua’ ,Alhamdulillah,
thanks Allah whatever happened you know the best for me (this time person has to submit his
will infornt of Allah ‘s will) and you are the best planner and on third stage person has to be
agree , surrender and start doing according to Allaah ‘s will. All happenings are from Allah
(Swt) as one hadeeth I recall here that even one single leaf drops on the earth is due to the
permission of Allaah (Swt).

“Allah is sufficient for me. None has the right to be worshipped but He,in Him I put my trust
and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.”(At-taubah:29)

When servant of Allah performs the act of Shukr “Alhamdulillah” , it means ,he is realizing,
recognizing His power and knowledge as Allaah (Swt) many time in His words mentioned in the
Qur’an that He is Al-‘leem, Al-Qadeer , Al- Walli, Al- Jabaar, Al-Alhaakim. Allaah (Swt) is the
most merciful in every situation; it is we, who take different situations in different way. Infact,
Allaah (Swt) is same but He knows that what situation is the most preferable and beneficial for
us. Subhanallaah!
Oaneela Noor ,12/4/2011,3

Allaah(Swt)never comes directly to make a person do or not do the things but He makes or
creates the situations, in which, we are directed to do accordingly. This is Allah’s power
indirectly which take us in or out from the situations which He thinks is the best for His servants.

Allaah (Swt) blessed us with boundles of bounties and blessings which we are not noticing and
realizing in our dialy life .That is the reason Allaah (swt) has mentioned, this human psychology
fourteen century ago, mentioning in Qur’an that Allaah (swt) has bestowed remarkable blessings
on His mankind but still they are not paying act of thankfulness. Disobeying Allaah (swt) due to
(always) comparing, complaining and indulging into the inferiorities and complexes, if we just
subordinate in front of will of Allah then we will not be worried, tense and sad. Inshallaah!

The best remedy or solution I find from one hadeeth ,I am write here its mafhoom, that always
look at those who has less than us.

If any situation comes and servant of Allaah (Swt) finds himself distrous and regretful, now how
can one come out from the situation? If person just think who is more power full than him (or
whole creature) and whose power is circulated among the universes. Person can come to know
that Only Allah is the most powerful.

If some trials comes servants of Allah must adopt positive approach that these are our mistakes
that we are punishable in this dunniyya (world) and it is also Allaah‘s mercy, He is removing
our sins or He is testing His beloved servants but in both situations He is preparing for
Fawoodhul Adheem (great reward) , increasing ranks and degrees in Akhira. Alhamdulilaah-i-
Rubb ul’aalameen!!!

Sometimes, it happens that we don’t like the situation but we have to bear and in long run we
come to know, infact, it was perfect for you. Who knows the best this is only Allah (swt) who is
Maalik (king/sovereign). Allaah (Swt) reminds us through His verse that “...It is possible that
you dislike something which is really good for you, or like something bad for you, but Allah
knows ,and you do not”(Qur’an 2:216).
Oaneela Noor ,12/4/2011,4

In any situation person has two situations either submit Allah or take at own:

In submission and surrender, person has to repent and turn to Allaah (swt). In Allaah (Swt)
words (interpretation of the meaning):, “…And whosoever does not repent, then such are
indeed zaalimoon(wrong-doers,etc).(Al-Hujuraat 49:11)

Those who submit Allah and leave their matters in Allah‘s hands Allaah(Subhaanallah) bestows
them with Sabar(patience) and Sakeenah (peace).

Eemaan is between hope and fear

Because ,they performed an act of tawwakal (trust) in Allah that Allah can take their matter in
right way rather than anything else .Another thing is what one weak person can do when the
situation is not favourable or unfavourable .Therefore, Al-mominoon( The believers) always seek
help from Allaah(swt) and they receive in return Sakeenah(peace)in their Quloob(hearts).

One can see tawwakal in Allah from the birds

However, the person who face the situation of happiness or sorrows take the matter
in his own hands,) and starts finding the ways besides Allaah (Swt). We must understand the
concept of Taqdeer here that everything is written prior and no one can change besides
Allaah(swt),according to one hadeeth,Prophets (SAW) has depicted about Taqdeer that, “Be
aware that if the whole mankind gathered together in order to do something to help you, they
Oaneela Noor ,12/4/2011,5

would only be able to do something for you which Allaah had already written for you. Likewise,
if the whole mankind gathered together to harm you , they would only be able to do something to
harm you Allaah had already written to happen to you.”(Tirmidhi)

Those who perform act of shirk in case of asking help besides Allaah(Swt), they remain tense
,depressed, fearful and try to take revenge .This is the major problem that majority of people are
cause of heart attacks and nervous breakdown.

Invocation is the essence of worship

We must recall the lesson from Suraah Al-Fatiha here, that Allaah (Swt) has commanded us
through Alhamdullilah (Kalima of thankfulness) ,the reason Allaah(Swt) depicts through His
attributes that He is Rabbi al aalammeen(praise to Allaah, lord of the worlds) , Arrhamaan, (the
entirely merciful)Arraheem(the especially merciful), , Maliki yawmi addeen (sovereign of the
day of recompense) .If we recognize His power is in ,between ,among and over ever thing
,then we will come to know we are nothing and without His help and assistance we cannot move
a single step. Finally we will start beg front of Him as Iyyak naabudu wa- iyyaka nasta’een (It
is You we worship and you ask for help) that we are only your servants and only we seek help
from you. Only He is the more attentive word to be focusssed .Allah wants us to be
Khaalis(pure, monethetic) for His Hidaayah (guidance) to the assirata almustaqeem(straight
path) .And that is the path of deen Islam and righteous people who had became the servants of
Allah(swt) and whoever follow their path they are being guided .
Oaneela Noor ,12/4/2011,6

So, we need to be “only” the servant in all situation and make tawwakul (trust) on

Allaah (Swt) who is the Malikul Mulki that whatever He makes or creates the situations for us
that are the best planned for us. If, we object or complain, it means we are pointing or blaming
Allaah(swt) that He (Naouz billah) has planned wrong for us or we are not happy on His
planning and that is an act of Fisq (disobedience).

My intentions, my words and my actions are “Only” for you Allaah(Swt).

From today, start saying Alhamdulillah! I am Muslim, Alhamdulillah! I am

not handicapped, paralysed , Alhamdulillah! I am educated and dependent on
myself, Alhamdulillah! I have a good family ,Alhamdulillah! I am not sick!
Alhamdulillah whatever I have!
