Measles Information/ Immunizations
Measles and Travel – Measles contin-
ues to occur in Europe, including
Baden-Wurtemberg among the
German population. European Re-
gional Medical Command advises
that the risk of measles to US
personnel is low due to our high rates
of vaccination, and that you assure
your immunizations are up to date.
Travelers to many countries in Europe
or Africa may be at significant risk of

measles exposure, so those traveling
with infants below the age of 12
months (the time first measles
vaccination is given) should consult
with their child’s pediatrician to
discuss possible early immunization
(between 6 and 12 months) based
upon your travel itinerary.
Immunization Clinic: Appointments
are available to Space “A”
beneficiaries’ children for DoD School
and CYS immunization requirements
effective 4 April 2011. Space “A”
beneficiaries exempt from priority of
care standards for Immunization
Clinic “only”. Clinic requires
appointment for all immunization ex-
cept for PPD placements/readings, flu
vaccine, and printouts for school or
daycare.

Duty Bus Passes for Middle School Students
On May 2, 2011, in conjunction with
the School Liaison Office and with
Boeblingen Middle School
administration, and garrison
transportation office, a procedure was
implemented for Boeblingen Middle
School students who were riding the
military duty busses that departed
from Panzer. Due to increased
misbehavior of students on those
busses, a special pass was created to
allow those middle school students
to be able to ride those shuttle buses.
Without that pass, they are being
denied on the bus. However; having a
pass does not prevent misbehavior
therefore these passes will be
revoked at the end of the school year
in order to reevaluate the system.
Drivers Education for Teens
Driver’s Education for teens in Europe
has been an AFAP issue for the past
5 years. In response a
comprehensive driver’s education
program for teens in Europe will be
launched in (April) 2011. It is made
possible through a collaborative effort
and contract with CYS Services, NAF
Contracting and the German National
Federation of Driving Instructors
Association (Fahrlehrerverband).
Development of 4 packages will give

Sports physicals will be conducted by
the Patch Health Clinic on the
following days: 21 May, 25 June, 23
July and 12 August. Please contact

The BOTTOM LINE is, parents need
to help in this process and reiterate to

not a right, and one could lose that

additional activity bus to take children
from Robinson Barracks to Patch and
Kelley after school programs and
ensure they get home in a timely

School at 1545, Monday thru
Thursday in order to alleviate the
children riding home on the military
shuttle bus.

HOW IT WORKS: Bus passes may
be obtained at the School Liaison
Office located on Patch Barracks,
Building 2347, within the central
registration office. Parents will need
to sign this form which also includes
the agreement that they will ensure
that the child behaves and what
consequences could follow if their
children are demonstrating
inappropriate behavior.

anti-American violence given recent
counter-terrorism activity in Pakistan.
Given the uncertainty and volatility of
the current situation, U.S. citizens in
areas where recent events could
cause anti-American violence are
strongly urged to limit their travel
outside of their homes and hotels and
avoid mass gatherings and
demonstrations. U.S. citizens should
stay current with media coverage of
local events and be aware of their
surroundings at all times. This Travel
Alert expires August 1, 2011. U.S.
