Positive Lock Delayed Egress Troubleshooting 800-342-7670

1. White control box or black (White - do following steps as req. / Black replace unit if more than adjusting plunger #4)

2. Which LED lights are lit by red clip starting at relay (pair - top & bottom the same / single with black shunt - ENA & LIM on bottom)
1. PRIV - never lit - if so turn red clip around
2. SLIDE - on / off switch is turned on at one door (check red wire if will not turn off) HANDY BOX WIRING
3. LIM - black limit switch button is pushed in at door (paddle is pulled all the way) Black, White, Green - 120Vac
4. SOLSW - plunger is inserted in latch assembly all the way Red, Blue - 24Vdc constant from
5. ENA - Rev 3 boards will be lit / newer boards will not be lit Fire Alarm Control Panel

3. Red light flashing / no hold / no sound (SOLSW not lit on one or both doors)
1. If only one SOLSW light not lit - determine which door by turning off one switch to see which SLIDE turns off
2. Turn off slide switches
3. Open doors & pull paddle back to locked position with doors open
4. Turn slide switches back on
5. If get self check chirp, SLIDE, LIM, SOLSW lights then all is good - see Plunger Adjustment #4

4. Plunger Adjustment
1. Loosen setscrew on body of plunger & unscrew plunger from bolt
2. Place plunger inside latch assembly & shut door / measuring gap between back of plunger & door
3. Reinstall plunger on door to go deeper into latch asbly by shimming forward with washers

5. Sounds continually when turn on slide switch (turns off with switch)
1. Check LIM light / tell which door by turning slide switch on & off / adjust limit switch arm as needed to fully depress limit switch
2. If no LIM light after adjust arm - check continuity of green & black wires from Alarm Board to red clip
3. If no continuity - check both sides of terminal block on alarm board & push down all wires on red clip with small screwdriver
4. If have continuity - disconnect voltage & three wires from alarm board to check board for proper operation / If sounds always with
limit switch depressed - order New TDL Alarm Board

6. Sounds continually when connect voltage (must disconnect voltage to turn off - usually loose wire)
1. Check connection & continuity of all wires from alarm board to red clip
2. Check connection & continuity of all wires from latch assembly to red clip
3. Check orange & white wire connectors inside control box & latch assembly - squeeze if needed
4. If no continuity to red clip - push down all wires on red clip with small screwdriver

7. Sounds twice repeatedly

1. Check continuity of all wires from latch asbly to red clip & additional wires inside latch asbly to solenoid
2. Check orange & white wire connectors inside control box & latch assembly - squeeze if needed

8. Have all lights / self check chirp / sounds / one or both doors DO NOT HOLD
1. Turn off slide switches
2. Open doors & pull paddle back to locked position with doors open
3. Turn slide switches back on
4. Test ball in end of latch asbly - should NOT move in & out
5. If ball moves see if solenoid inside latch assembly is getting 8 volts (see #10 to access solenoid)
A. If Solenoid (black & white wires) is getting 8 volts - bad solenoid - see replacing latch asbly #12
B. If Solenoid is not getting 8 volts / check black & white wires on red clip for 8 volts / no voltage - replace TDL PS Board

9. SOLSW light doesn't come on with doors open - see #10 (check solenoid & switch)

10. Check Solenoid & Solenoid Switch in latch assembly

1. Turn off slide switches & open doors
2. Loosen first two nuts on top of latch assembly
3. Raise end bracket up to slide bottom plate out toward you to see inside latch assembly
4. Start at black block on end & move forward to find round solenoid with an end cap that moves when ball is pushed
5. End cap depresses & releases switch with ball movement / cap flush with solenoid when ball all the way out
6. Lubricate cap if isn't flush with solenoid & push in with finger to loosen
7. When cap is flush with solenoid there should be a 1/16" gap between cap & switch (adjust switch brkt if needed)
8. Check SOLSW light to see if lit - shut door & check for self check chirp - adjust plunger as needed.

11. Replacing Latch assembly

1. See if red clip has a red wire jumper **MUST KNOW TO ORDER**
2. Pair of doors - Orange / Black wires or Orange / Blue wires connected inside control box **MUST KNOW TO ORDER**
*If no orange / black or orange / blue wires then replace both latch assemblies to be connected together*

12. Replacing old PS Board w/ new - remove red wire jumper on red clip
