No color. Servicer had change u1001 and the following caps. C2808,2803,2801
and the crystal. Voltages on pin 11 12 & 13 were okay. The color killer on pin 30
measured 6 volts. Putting 8 volts on pin 30 gave us color bars but the chroma
filter r2802 couldn't lock color in. Cap. C2802 didn't check leaky but on a cap.
CTC169 C2802 Chroma Checker it measured over 4uf. Replacing with a 2.2uf restore color. Replace c2802
Set had good black and white and good audio but no color. Replaced capacitor
CTC169 C2801 Chroma c2801 off pin 11 of icu1001. It was leaky. Replace c2801

Weak or no chroma this is in the dpip module bypassing the pip module
increased the color level significantly. Checking the chroma level input at j8003-1
found the level consistent with the level at the output of the comb filter
approximate 500mv p-p. (I don't trust his scope). Tracing chroma onto the dpip
ctc169 C8019 Chroma module we say a 40% drop in waveform across c8019. Replace c8019
CTC169B Tint wrong color. No red. Checking u8402 pin 11 in the pip module the voltage
J C8430 Chroma was .07vdc should of been 4.14vdc. Found c8430 leaky Replace c8430

CTC169 U1001 Chroma Pink, red colors bleed. Flesh tones off. Traced fault to u1001. Replace u1001.

Unit would come on with no color. On checking u1001 pin 14 was low at 7 volts. from l4702 to
Checking q4704 base was at 7 volts. Found open trace from l4702 to jw329 off jw329 off pin 8
CTC169 trace Chroma pin 8 of ihvt of ihvt

Intermittent color. Chroma signal at u1001 pin 31 normal when the set had color,
but would distort with no color . Checking the waveform back through the video Resolder loose
processing and comb filter stages the waveform looked good except for the ground
output of the pip module. Injecting chroma on 1 side of c2814 helped. Found bad connection on
CTC169 L2804 Chroma ground connection on l2804. Resoldering corrected the problem. l2804.
In pip mode the pip color was purple. Big pix was ok. Placing a .01uf cap from
js6400 to ground the color in the pip pix changed. Measuring the voltage at q6406
we found only 3vdc instead of 10 to 10.5vdc. Found q6406 shorted and cr6401 Replace q6406
CTC169 CR6401 Chroma leaky. and cr6401

Intermittent color. On pin 14 of u1001 found the voltage going up to 14 volts. On

CTC169 CR4712 Chroma changing cr4712 the voltage would stay at 9 volts. Replace cr4712

G C2814 Chroma No color. Found c2814 (smd off pin 31 u1001) open Replace c2814
CTC169A No color, b&w ok. B+ on u1001-14 measured almost 8 volts. Replaced leaky
S C4714 Chroma c4714 (q4702-b 12v reg). Replace c4714
Non pip/ analog comb chassis...comb filter u2601-8 color out was at 11vdc with
CTC169C no signal. Found that q1404 in svhs circuit had b:7v, e:0v & c:11v. Replaced
A Q1404 Chroma q1404 and color was restored. Replace q1404.
