ABSTRACT

Vibration problems in structures or operating machinery often involve the excitation

of structural resonances or modes of vibration. Many types of machinery and equipment have

been encountered severe resonance related vibration problems during operation. Our project

is an effort to identify the natural frequency of fabricated bracket used to support radiator of

diesel engines, the resonance of which is responsible for its failure. The verified natural

frequency will then be used by the company to make some modifications to solve the failure

problem.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

I wish to acknowledge with deep gratitude the valuable guidance received

from Prof. N. S. Kulkarni, who not only encouraged us throughout this project, but also

took great pains in going through the manuscript carefully and correction, which had greatly

improved the quality of the text. The paper writing techniques provided by him helped us

greatly in forming of this complete document. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude

to Prof. Dr. G. R. Gogate for his guidance and encouragement during the initial stages of the

project.

I sincerely thanks Prof. Dr. M.K. Nalawade, Head Of Mechanical Engineering

Department ,for his guidance and support .

I acknowledge the valuable assistance and counsel of Mr. Vilas Deolkar and Mr.

Milind Kandalkar, our company assigned guide for their valuable guidance. Finally we

acknowledge one and all who were concerned with our project and played instrumental role

in the successful implementation of this project.
