Formed at Mascara on 1st October 1887 by the Law of 25 July 1887

and the Decree of 6th August 1887 with the 3e, 4e and 5e squad-
rons of the 4e Régiment de Hussards and the 6e squadrons of the
2e and 4e Régiments de Chasseurs d'Afrique.
