EPT 4066 INDUSTRIAL TRAINING

Aims of Subject:
• To expose students to the ‘real’ working environment and
get acquainted with the organization structure, business
operations and administrative functions.

• To have hands-on experience in their related field so that


they can relate and reinforce what has been taught at the
university.

• To foster cooperation and to develop synergetic


collaboration between industry and the university in
promoting a knowledgeable society.

Learning Outcomes of Subject:

At the completion of the subject, students should be able to:


• LO1- Adapt to the working environment and job culture. (psychomotor –
adapting, level 6)

• LO2- Identify the requirements and expectations of industry on employees.


(cognitive – analysing, level 4)

• LO3- Apply the various skills learned in the university to industrial and
business activities. (cognitive – applying, level 3)

• LO4- Explain the measures used by industrial and business organisations in


order to remain competitive. (cognitive – understanding, level 2)

Programme Outcomes of Subject:
PO2 – Capability to communicate effectively. (10%)
PO6 – Understanding of the importance of sustainability and cost-
effectiveness in design and development of engineering solutions. (10%)
PO7 – Understanding and commitment to professional and ethical
responsibilities (10%)
PO8 – Ability to work effectively as an individual, and as a member/leader
in a team. (10%)
PO9 – Ability to be a multi-skilled engineer with good technical knowledge,
management, leadership and entrepreneurial skills.(50%)
PO10 – Awareness of the social, cultural, global and environmental
responsibilities as an engineer. (10%)

This information is important for ITP Committee 2010 to


arrange Lecturer’s ITP VISIT from Week 10 to 14.

WEEK 10 – WEEK 14

LECTURER’S VISIT
Students are responsible to do the following:

1. To check Bulletin Board and the ITP website after Week 9 to obtain
the lecturer visit information.
2. To contact the assigned lecturer and initiate arrangement for the
visit.
3. To report to ITP Chairperson if the assigned lecturer does not
respond.
4. To inform the company that visit or phone interview is mandatory
for MMU ITP.

(Inform the company supervisor to fill–up the company


evaluation form, put it in sealed envelope and pass to you)

Examiner in charge of ITP presentation will be announced


via MMU Online Bulletin Board

„ Report Duty On Time
„ Observe Company’s Rules and Regulations
„ Dress Code: Decent or as required by the company
„ Be Proactive
„ Do not wait for instruction from supervisor all the time
„ Please ensure you have covered a minimum of 16
working weeks during your training
„ Please observe the manner that is befitting to the name
and reputation of MMU
„ Please check your email and Online Bulletin Board on a
regular basis for important announcements from MMU
