Rewards for Believers

"Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay everyone for what he has
done” (Revelation 22:12).

"If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward” (1 Corinthians
3:14).

The New Testament mentions 5 different crowns that Christians will be able to receive based on our
works that we have done.

Crown- “A ______________ of victory or mark of _________; especially the title representing the
championship in a sport.”

1. The imperishable crown- 1 Corinthians 9:25, 1 Peter 1:3-4

Unlike the rewards on_________, the rewards in __________ will be __________! (Matthew 6:19-20)

Discussion- After considering Jesus' words in Matthew 6 what should the Christian's view of earthly

There is nothing wrong with owning possessions. The problem is when possessions own us!

1John 2:15, “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of
the Father is not in him.”

2. The crown of righteousness- 2 Timothy 4:7-8

Galatians 5:5 “For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of
righteousness.”

3. Crown of Life- James 1:12, Revelation 2:1-0

4. Crown of Glory- 1 Peter 5:1-4

A reward for church leaders who led by example and remained faithful to the Word.

In the letter to Timothy Paul said, “Let the _________ who rule well be considered worthy of double
honor, especially those who labor in __________________ and __________________. (I Timothy
5:17).

Throughout the New Testament the church always had a plurality of leaders.

Act 14:23 And when they had appointed _______________ for them in every church, with prayer and

The leaders in the New Testament Church were men who led by example.

5. The Crown of Rejoicing- 1 Thessalonians 2:19, Philippians 4:1
