AS WE GATHER NEXT WEEK’S READINGS - The appointed readings for next Sunday, May 22nd, the

Lord as the Good Shepherd is a cherished one. By faith we are given to know that He provides
all that we need, that He is the Door to everlasting life, that He leads us in the paths of Grace Lutheran Church

SUNDAY BIBLE CLASS – Pastor Walter’s Bible Class meets at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday
morning in Parker Hall.
IN SUNDAY SCHOOL TODAY the children learned that as God did with Paul, so God
does with us. Through the Law we are crushed by the weight of our sin and are helpless.
As God revived Paul through Ananias (Acts 9:1–31), He revives us through our pastors
with the proclamation of His Word and the administration of His Sacraments granting
forgiveness, life, and salvation to all who believe. Talk to your children about how the
Sacraments and God’s Word revive you so that you may live as God’s child.
THE YOUNG WOMEN OF GRACE will meet for Bible study each Sunday morning in
the classroom downstairs in the church. Bible study materials are provided, and child

BELL CHOIR – CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY WISCONSIN - The Alleluia Ringers of
Concordia University Wisconsin will be presenting a concert of sacred and secular music
here at Grace on Friday evening, May 20th, at 7:30 p.m. This group of 13 talented
college students, under the direction of Dr. John Behnke will use over 140 handbells and
handchimes. In their 25 year history, The Alleluia Ringers have performed throughout
the United States, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, and Lativa, plus played for two
national handbell seminars. The music will be fascinated to watch and inspiring to listen
to them. Don’t miss this incredible concert!
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL - We need you!! Grab a vine, brave the rapids, and prepare
for a BIG JUNGLE ADVENTURE! You won't want to miss a minute of this big
adventure where everyone can go wild for Jesus! An informational/training meeting
will be next Saturday, May 21st at 9am for all those interested in volunteering (even
if you haven't signed up yet!!) for this years' VBS, scheduled June 26th-30th. VBS
would not be possible without you, and we need many caring & loving people to help
guide our children to learn more about the love of Jesus!! Please make plans to join this

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL – Let's get ready for some vine-swingin' fun!! Join
the Big Jungle Adventure: A Faith Journey with Jesus on June 26th-30th!! Meet
Ranger Morgan & come explore Bible stories, take Bible challenges, make crafts, play
fun games, and sing awesome songs, all while meeting some amazing adventure
animals!! Look for the registration and volunteer area in the breezeway, as we kick

MIRACLE LEAGUE BALL – Alex Roberts is playing Miracle League ball on the Twins
team at Jr. Deputy Field on Cantrell Road. Her last game is this Saturday, May 21st, at
1:00 p.m. The schedule is on the bulletin board next to the Parlor.
JOY CLUB FLOAT TRIP – The Annual Joy Club Float Trip, is Saturday, June 11th.
Meet at the Highway 14 Bridge at 9:45 a.m. for departure at 10:00 a.m. The cost is
$45.00 per canoe plus $5 per person for lunch on the river. Lunch on the river is served

LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF – We are again collecting items for World Relief kits.
This year our projects are “Layette Kits” and “School Kits”. During May we will
collect receiving blankets for the Layettes. This summer we will collect items for the
School Kits. Thank you for your support of Lutheran World Relief. Call the church

DISNEY EXTRAVAGANZA - Grace Lutheran Board of Evangelism is sponsoring a
booth at the 4th Annual Disney Extravaganza this Saturday, May 21st, from 11:00 a.m.
to 2:00 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church. Each booth has a Disney theme and our
booth is “Finding Nemo” with a bean bag toss for the children to win prizes. The
Disney Extravaganza is sponsored by The Pulaski County Adoption Coalition. This
carnival style event brings children available for adoption and approved adoptive families
together and gives them an opportunity to meet! If you would like to volunteer to work
in our booth call Abby Buchanan, Gina Junkans or Pat Funk
GRADUATIONS – We have several of our young people graduating from either high
school or college. Please let Pat know about these events so we can publish them in the

MID-WEEK SERVICES - We have a Worship Service each Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
Each week’s theme follows the theme of the previous Sunday. Holy Communion is
celebrated on the second and fourth Wednesday. Please join us for worship.
CAMP FALCON – Register now for Camp Falcon 2011 at Christ Lutheran School on
June 6 through July 29 (Monday thru Friday – 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.) for students
entering preschool 4 through 6th grade. The cost is $100 a week per child with discounts
for multiple children. Flyers are on the tables at each entrance to the sanctuary. For

LUTHERAN CAMP ON PETIT JEAN’s 2011 Summer Camp schedule and registration
forms are available on the table by the ramp door. The theme, F.R.O.G. Fully Rely on
God, will allow campers to walk through the Old and New Testament, learning about true
believers before them who fully relied on God. Campers will discover people like Noah,
Moses, Esther, and Paul who put all their trust in God when they found themselves in
tough situations. Camp programs are available for Kindergarten through 12th grade. To
receive the full payment discount of $15, your registration must be paid in full by today
