Why The Church Is Against The RH Bill?

Reproductive Health Bill or popularly known as RH Bill is a Philippine bill aiming

to guarantee universal access to methods and information on birth control and maternal
care. The bill has become the center of a contentious national debate. The bill is highly
controversial, with experts, academics, religious institutions, and major political figures
both supporting and opposing it, often criticizing the government and each other in the
process. The RH Bill is an extension of a secret, global conspiracy – a western attempt
– to implement principles of eugenics on unsuspecting, inferior populations in order to
exclude them from the human evolutionary process, at the end of which would, at the
apex, summon forth THE MASTER RACE. The church never runs out of arguments
against RH Bill. RH Bill won't solve poverty and it would only promote more problems
just like what happens now because of its controversies.

The Church teaches that passing the RH Bill which will allow the use of oral
contraceptives will violate the 5th commandment of God which is “You shall not kill”. It
also teaches that RH Bill is an anti-life bill. Contraceptives prevent the formation of the
zygote which will be a new life. It means killing a new life. It is immorality and sin against
God. The use of contraceptives will also produce other sins such as adultery.
Prostitution will spread more in the country. If the government will pass the RH Bill, it will
be a stepping stone towards another sin which is legalizing divorce in our country just
like what happened in other Christian countries. RH Bill also forces the concept of free
sex in our society and the use of abortion if contraceptives fail which is another
immorality in the sight of God.

RH Bill defies the principle of life by which they took the right of the baby to be
born. Life must be respected. Using contraceptives stops the formation of a new life.
Life is given by God and only God would have the right to take it. None of us has the
authority end life. RH Bill takes away respect for a person because everyone has a right
to live and everybody should respect that.

Therefore I conclude that RH Bill should not be passed as a law because it will
become as a source of sin and immorality. Being a Christian, we must respect and
protect life. There are so many problems in our country that must be solved first. RH Bill
is not that necessary anymore. The government must prioritize the most important not
just focusing on overpopulation. Corruption for me is the root of poverty and not
overpopulation. It’s because I believe that if the government officials just do their jobs
honestly, they could just use the money that they put in their pocket and the money to
be used in RH Bill to help the needy. I’m not a Catholic but I go against the RH Bill
because I see what the Catholic Church teaches has a sense and they have a point.
