East Lynn is one of Loudoun’s oldest working
farms. It was started in 1869 as a dairy farm
by Bushrod Lynn, a Virginia State Senator.
After lying dormant for a decade, it is being
farmed once again for hay, cattle and sheep.
East Lynn is 143 acres and lies between
the beautiful Bull Run and Blue Ridge
Mountains with breathtaking views of each.

towards Gilbert’s Corner. Take a right at
Gilbert’s Corner and pass through the town
of Aldie until Snickersville Turnpike. Stay on
Snickersville Turnpike for about 5 miles until

Gibson Farm is located on Virginia’s rolling
hills at the base of the Bull Run Mountains.
It is an excellent example of a 19th century
working farm as nearly all of the original
buildings of the farm, including the farm-
house, remain as they were during the
1800’s. Situated on 92 breathtaking acres,
Gibson Farm also houses a historic grave-
yard where many members of the family
that ran the Aldie Mill are buried, along
with, what are believed to be, the slaves
that worked the farm prior to the Civil War.
Directions: From Leesburg take Route 15 towards
Gilbert’s Corner. Take a right at Gilbert’s Corner
toward the town of Aldie. New Mountain Road
is the second left and continue up the road for
about one mile. Gibson Farm will be on your left.

Ivandale Farm provides a selection of
native and rare species of trees, along with
more common popular varieties. With over
20,000 trees in stock and 400 varieties,

nursery is Loudoun’s oldest operating nurs-
ery, having begun operations after the Civil
War. The property contains an Arboretum
planted in the 19th century. The farm has
been occupied since the 1730’s with the
main house having been built in 1819.

Master Gardeners grow and maintain an
organic garden that includes vegetables, fruit,
ornamentals and turf. Special theme gar-
dens include a Heritage garden, a Children’s
garden, a Shade garden, a Wedding garden
and a Butterfly garden. A composting dem-
onstration area is used for teaching and
creating compost that is used in the garden
beds. A pergola classroom area included in
the garden is used to provide information for
Master Gardener Volunteers and the public.
On Saturday, 11 AM–1 PM, the Garden to Table
Team will hold workshops: “Bugs in the
Garden”, “Planting and Transplanting Seeds
and Seedlings”, and “Maintaining a Vegetable
Garden Through the Summer.” Garden activi-
ties for the children will also be featured.

business north. Turn left into Ida Lee Park, within
the park, turn right and follow the road to the barn.

WeatherLea Farm is a historic farm that
produces Romney and Merion sheep for wool
products, and Cabernet Franc, Viognier and
Malbec grapes for sale to a leading local
winery. In addition, WeatherLea serves as
a lovely venue for weddings between May

accommodations year-round in a charm-

We are nestled on 26 acres, at the eastern
base of Short Hill and produce high quality
grapes for our own wine. This husband and
wife team have been growing grapes sine
2002 and commercially producing wine
