Re: [JR] Tanvir ji and Partha Sarathy ji: Beeja sphuta, Kshetra sphuta, and Putra tithi
Respected Bala Ji, Tanvir Ji, Partha Sarathy Ji, and all learned members of this
group
Beeja Sphuta, Kshetra Sphuta and Putra Tithi (Santana Tithi) have been
elaborately mentioned in standard books and mentioned by Shri Bala Ji, but I am
tempted to quote the explanation for Beeja and Kshetra as given in “How To Judge
A Horoscope Vol.1 by Dr. B. V. Raman”
Though the 5th house maybe strong and all indications for birth or children
maybe present, there will be no issues if there is no strength or vitality for
Beeja and Kshetra. Beeja is the seed of the male and Kshetra is the bed of the
woman. In other words Beeja and Kshetra represent, not exactly the sperm and the
ovum, but the element that really makes the male and female fluids fertile.
------------ if the Beeja and Kshetra in their horoscopes are not strong, when
judged according to astrological rules, they will not bring forth any issues.
When the Beeja (male) is weak and Kshetra (female) is strong, then children may
be born late in the life after undertaking the necessary remedial measures. The
strength to cause pregnancy is controlled by the Sun – lord of vitality – in
general. Venus governs the seminal fluid. These two must have favourable
positions in the horoscope particularly in odd signs. Similarly, in the case of
a female, Mars governs the nature of blood and the Moon
controls the strength to bear children. These two planets should preferably
occupy even signs.
In case of a male, add together the longitude of Sun, Venus and Jupiter. Expunge
multiples of 360 degrees. The sign arrived at indicates what is called “Beeja
Sphuta” or longitude of seed.
Similarly in a female horoscope add together the longitude of Mars, Moon and
Jupiter. Expunge multiples of 360 degrees. The sign arrived at represents the
longitude of the bed or “Kshetra Sphuta”

I have cast the couple’s horoscope by Raman Ayanamsa with the data mentioned in
Shri Bala Ji’s posting. The Ephemeris used in JHL or the Algorithm used for
calculations has a minor error when calculating degrees. I am using Raman
Ayanamsa with the option 1 Degree 27 Minutes and 1 Second less than Lahiri to
arrive at a close approximation of actual degrees (against Standard Ephemeris).
The error is less than 1 Second, however the software does not allow fractional
corrections. Learned members may not agree to my findings, I bow my head to
their wisdom and experience.

The Vedic Week Day was Sunday. Sunrise: 5:26:44, Sunset: 19:13:51. Day duration:

Expunging 360 we have Beeja Sphuta as 253.754 or 13.754 (Sagittarius in Rasi and
Leo in Navamsa)
The Beeja Sphuta in both cases is in odd signs. In Rasi Sagittarius is occupied
by Jupiter and Rahu. Gulika from the 2nd house aspects the 3rd house Sagittarius
that has Beeja Sphuta. In Navamsa Beeja Sphuta is in Leo, which also has Gulika
in it.
********
Shri Bala Ji has omitted taking the signs in respect to degrees of planets,
hence the error in his calculations.

For this I am mentioning the explanation and method given in “Prasna Marga” Vol.
2 page 110 under the chapter “Issues according to Birth Horoscope” by Dr. B. V.
Raman.
Convert the birth time into Vighati’s (calculated from Sunrise), divide this by
50
Quotient = x

Analysis:
In the Husband’s horoscope, the lord of the 5th house Saturn is Retrograde and
in the 8th house. It receives the aspect of Gulika and Mandi. The 5th lord from
the Moon is again Saturn. According to Classical Texts if Jupiter is in
Sagittarius, birth of progeny is delayed.
In the female chart the lord of the 5th house (Venus) is vanquished in greh
yuddh. It also receives the aspect of Saturn from the 3rd house. Jupiter and
Mandi both occupy the 5th house in Navamsa.
Beeja Sphuta in the husband’s horoscope receives the aspect of Gulika and Mandi
in Rasi, in Navamsa the Beeja Sphuta is in the same house as Gulika.
Kshetra Sphuta in the wife’s horoscope is with Saturn in Navamsa. Lord of the
6th and 5th are in Greh yuddh, with the lord of the 5th being vanquished.
There are several points in the respective horoscopes to deny children. There
are plus points too. The Beeja Sphuta is conjoined with Jupiter in Rasi.
Presence of Jupiter in the female chart’s Navamsa 5th house is good. However in
my own humble view, the birth of children is also dependant on ruling Dasa
periods and yearly transit of planets. In sensitive cases such as the one
presented for study, both the Dasa periods and Transit planets play a vital role
in giving progeny.
An opportunity to beget a child may present itself in 2005-2006 while Jupiter;
the great benefic will be in Libra. In the husband’s horoscope he will be in
Ascendant, while in the wife’s case it will be the 5th house itself. The ruling
Dasa period of the husband will be Jupiter-Saturn (25-9-2005 to 7-4-2008). In
the wife’s case the ruling Dasa period will be Moon-Moon (30-5-2006 to
30-3-2007). However slim a chance this maybe, but it sure holds a good promise.
Muhuratha
PS
Gulika:
Divide the day duration by 8. Each division (Khanda) has a different lord. The
Ascendant degree arrived at erecting a horoscope defined by the beginning of
Saturn’s Khanda on a day defines the Gulika’s position.
In the husband’s case, the day duration is 652.5 Minutes; each Khanda is
equivalent to 81.5625 Minutes (decimal). Since the birth is on Friday, the
Gulika’s time is reckoned at beginning of 2nd Khanda, which is Sunrise time
(6:37:35) + 81.5625 (1:21:33) = 7:59:08 Hrs. This gives Gulika as 216.117
(decimal) degrees.
In the wife’s case the day duration is 827 Minutes; each Khanda is equivalent to
103.375 Minutes (decimal). Since the birth is on a Sunday, the Gulika’s time is
reckoned at beginning of the 7th Khanda, which is Sunrise time (5:26:44) +
(103.375 x 7 ~ 5:26:44) = 17:30:21. This gives Gulika as 216.951 (decimal)
degrees.
In husband’s case, the day duration is 652.5 minutes. The weekday is Friday.
Mandi on Friday (day time) rises at 6 Ghati’s or 144 minutes after sunrise.
Since the day duration is less, the Mandi’s position is reckoned at the
Ascendant degree at 130.5125 minutes + Sunrise time; which is (6:37:35 +
2:10:30) to arrive at 8:48:05 Hrs. This gives Mandi as 226.601 (decimal)
In wife’s case, the day duration is 827 Minutes; the weekday is Sunday. Mandi on
Sunday (day time) rises at 26 Ghati’s or 624 minutes after Sunrise. Since the
day duration is more than 720 minutes; Mandi’s position is reckoned at 716.733
(11:56:44) + Sunrise 5:26:44 = 17:23:28. This gives Mandi as 125.482 (decimal)
JHL has an error in its software; I hope Murphy isn’t deceiving me!!! Unless JHL
is based on a different Ganitha!!!! Maybe some learned member can add to my
knowledge
Regards
Tanvir.
Recently, there was a query from a woman on JR, who was having
difficulty concieving even after four years of marriage. I told
her that I would help her with the calculations which would
increase the possibilities of bearing children. The same is
given below. My Math is terrible, and I wish that one or both of
you should have a look at it to ensure that what I say is
correct. I would request Meenu ji to ignore this post until it
has been verified by at least one of you. It is for this reason
that I have deliberately chosen not to address this message to
her.
First, the source. The method has been detailed in Shri Bepin
Behari's book "Astrology Simplified." The details under the
heading "SPHUTA" are given below, from Page 187. To save time
typing out the text, I am reproducing the relevent entry from
aryabhatt.com, which carries the exact text:

Subtracting Surya from Chandra - 31^ 5' 55" minus 137^ 14' 0" -
we get -73^ 51' 55". For this calculation, I took 31^ 5' 55" as
30^ 65' 55". I hope that this is permissible, but I wanted to
get the negative at the degrees, not the minutes.
So, I think that the Putra Tithi stands in the first half of the
day for Krishna Saptami.
