ABSTRACT

Emotional Intelligence (EI) has been put forward as a distinctive kind of intelligence. EI
is gaining importance in recent days as emotions play a major role in daily walks of life.
Emotional Intelligence is very important for all employees as it is one of the important
deciding factors for relationship management resulting in motivation, retention, and self
management & managing others. Emotional Intelligence is the ability of an individual to
deal successfully with other people, to manage one’s self, motivate other people,
understand one’s own feelings and appropriately respond to the everyday environment.

This project “A STUDY ON EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE OF

EXECUTIVES WITH REFERENCE TO ICF EMPLOYEES” focuses on to identify the
EQ factors and its effectiveness among the employees. It also analyzes the role of EI in
developing interpersonal relation of employees of ICF.

The researcher adopted descriptive research design to check the factors of EI

among employees in ICF. The researcher used convenience sampling technique for this
study. The Questionnaire was used as the major tool of data collection. A sample of 120
respondents was taken for survey. The information collected is classified, tabulated and
an analysed with help of statistical tools via percentage analysis, Mann-Whitney U Test,
Kruskal Wallis and Friedman Test.

From the data collected it was found that the most prominent factors are
Relationship management and Social Awareness. There are no enough effective self
awareness skills and self control which is very important for decision making and
advancement in career. So researcher suggests that training and motivational programs
should be given to the employees for enhancing the level of emotional intelligence at any
point of time in life.
